Recommended Posts

Requirements:

MUST be diesel

MUST be big enough for 3 bikes + 3-4 people

MUST be cheap to insure

Any colour, any model, any size, any year (so long as its not ancient) I was thinking something about the size of a vauxhall astra or i was thinking about getting an estate (so i could sleep in it too)

Don't want no corsa's or novas please :P I already drive a saxo lol

Any size engine too prefferably no bigger than 2.0 l (unless its just as cheap to insure)

Thanks

group 4 insurance, nice and pokey and plenty of room for a couple of bikes in the back, though u gotta fold seats down unless u get an estate version!

Doubt theres much else out there for the kinda money, cheap to run, insure, repair etc

306 TD or HDI.

Vectra 2.0 DI, 1.7 TD, or one of the numerous other engines out there(Dependant on year).

Mondeo 1.8TD.

BMW 318 TDS, or 320TDS.

can list cars forever, really need an idea on budget though

Aren't vans expensive to insure, I reckon you can't go far wrong with the 306, plus they are multifunction (a van will just be for carrying stuff) I hear the turbo is decent, if you can stretch to the HDI it will be cheap to run too and, while it isn't no speed demon, should still leave the nova boys behind.

sorry, but hendrixmaster, from your last few car posts, starting to think your automotie knowledge is limited. ive never seen a 1.9 transit....ever.because they probably dont exist.

also, if your going to go down the Van route, Vito's are the future.

Bear in mind the earlier transits were 1.9, 2.0 and 2.3 - I remember because my dad had the 1.9

ALSO, Vito are no good to go for, especially not the new ones. They're extremely slow. Even the 110bhp is nothing. My neighbour has bought one, and I was very disspointed when a Volvo overtook us!

Again - VW Campervans with Impreza Engines are the way to go. Lots of guys down my ay are doing that sort of thing. You just need £6k spare.

Splitscreen for £13k +

:)
