Onza Kieron
Ok, got a wee question, ordered a Epiphone Les Paul Junior, 57 reissue. My reason is because I wanted the tone of the guitar in Green Day - Waiting, which I can nearly get with my strat but not quite. Basically im just curious if anyone has tried this guitar and opinions and stuff on it. Personally, I love the looks of it too but anyway, yeash, whats you opinions? Hendrix
I've got an actuel 60's Gibson Les Paul - which makes the same sound as the re-issue, just at alot higher price It tone lies in the amp set up. And he's on the bridge pick up ....Just look for his amp set up on google (www.google.co.uk) , or dogpile (www.dogpile.co.uk)

Hendrix
I'm as proud as you can get, but I just can't play it out!
Janson
the epiphone will not sound as nice as the gibson.. simply because it is cheaper made from cheaper materials and has cheaper electronics in it.will still sound pretty good, and as been said, lots of the tone is in the amp, effects and copious amounts of EQing in the studio. i am actually building myself a nice lp junior doublecut pretty soon.. building the body from scratch, probably getting and old fender neck (prefer them over LP necks, plus they bolt on nicer than proper Gibson necks, they're set) and a p90 or a gfs lipstick pup in there.. will sound pretty sweet. Tomm
Pfft, it's not like Greenday have a classic Les Paul sound anyway, it's too distorted to be distinguishable from anything else really. Yeah, you might not get the exact sound with a strat, but I bet you can get it with any old Gibson/Epiphone/copy with a humbucker. Should be a nice guitar though. TomR
You wont sound anything like the band you want to without their same setup, and if youre after their studio sound you'll struggle even more, especially with greendays newer album.Just buy a cheap guitar, some decent heavy gauge strings, a seymour duncan invader and a decent amp.
