hey

i need some advice with a crank set, mines shit at the moment, onza crank, crapy bent bashring, which has bent the sprocket and forcing it into the frame!!!

so i'm gonna get some new stuff, not much cash 75-80 no more,

i think i'm gonna try 18tooth on the front, i found a few things on tarty what do you think:

http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=156

http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=179

http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=32

will these all work together, i'm running rear freewheel, and a square tapered BB,

and does the bashring just clamp in between the sprocket? does it need a lock nut on the othr end?

Btw all to go on a T-tex

thanks very much,

harry

Good reliable parts you're looking at there, can't fault any of them really! As long as all threads/tapers are kept tight (including checking for the first few riders) they'll last ages.

The bashring is held on by the screw-on sprocket, yes. If you go ahead, make sure you fit the sprocket with grease or anti-sieze - will make it much easier to get off in future!

Cheers

Make sure its reasonably tight before you do any gapping from the back wheel. I tried with jonnys and was suprised by just how much further it kept tightening as i tried to gap... kind of gave the same effect as the chain snapping.

Sit with the brake nearly fully on and try and pedal around, then do little gaps to tighten it properly.
