AdamR28
Good reliable parts you're looking at there, can't fault any of them really! As long as all threads/tapers are kept tight (including checking for the first few riders) they'll last ages. The bashring is held on by the screw-on sprocket, yes. If you go ahead, make sure you fit the sprocket with grease or anti-sieze - will make it much easier to get off in future!CheersAdam

Dan6061
Nah, you don't need a locknut. The cog will just tighten itself as you ride...always fun trying to get those off..

Krisboats
Make sure its reasonably tight before you do any gapping from the back wheel. I tried with jonnys and was suprised by just how much further it kept tightening as i tried to gap... kind of gave the same effect as the chain snapping.Sit with the brake nearly fully on and try and pedal around, then do little gaps to tighten it properly. AdamR28
Check the BB and pedals are nice and tight - that will most likely be the cause
