RobinJI
Yeah, hosepipe is a good one. What frame is it? a lot of frames just don't really seem to care anyway, just superficial damage, in which case, ignore it. At least the bike will look ridden . Adrian
well if your chainstay protector wore through then why not buy another?? bit like gloves, when they wear through you dont start putting pipe and shit on your hands. what a pointless topic! dont you have a brain? i mean come on, wall hits chain stay? hmmm let me think, how about put something between them to stop it from happening??? bit f**kin obviouse realy. have you never heard of gaffa tape? plastic? wood? metal? what was you chain stay protector made from? cloth stuff? wow that must be so hard to get hold of. god sake just use some commom sense Edited January 29, 2007 by aim@me
Fixed Pantsâ„¢
An old MTB tyre could be quite good.
RobinJI
Probably would be a good idea to put something on there, Levelbosses seem to dent like a b*****d on the chain-stays, or most places really. As you said though, its expected with a bike that light. Zip tie a piece of something tough on, basically all it takes, tyre, hose pipe, plastic, whatever. _Owen.
use road bike bike grips. the wrap things, and just put a cable tie either side. its really hard to rip and hopefully will protect your frame a bit better than a chainstay protector

I have used tyres on my scott, even your chain rips through neoprene after a while, whereas the tyre has also stopped all the paint chipping off. ben.richardson
hithere is a monty chainsatay protector that is made out of neoprene similar to the armourdillo's they were on cleanbikes a bit ago you should check them out but it depends how hard you ride and land on your chainstay to how long they last. I hope ive helped.

Adrian
well i used to use that fake wooden floor stuff you get with a sticky bottom. stick it to where ever and put a load of tape over it and it protects it realy well. if not then an old belt?? for my down tube i used to nick rulers from school the sew neopreme around them so that when the ruler eventualy snapped i cpuld take it out and put a new one in.. lol..... just get something hard and tape it to your frame with shit loads of tape and itll work.
