Heated Cnc Lever Blades!

Ghetto Rider

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Was out riding in the below -C temperature last night and my whole body was warm apart from my index fingers! Cold as ice!!

So i had thought? - No don't run for your life.... Would heated brake levers be possible or wouldn't it just be awesome to have them eh?

Let all know your thoughts and if it comes to it, lets get a petition signed for Tarty!!

Not sure about levers (perhaps a small inductive coil is possible?) but you can get heated grips for motorbikes with a switch and rheostat. A mate at work uses them and says they're lush in this kind of weather. Perhaps something could be adapted for trials bars with a small battery pack.

Not going to happen... as the amount of juice you would need to keep em warm would drain a small battery very very fast.

Forgot the name for this stuff so here's a pic.

It's perfect when it comes to reflecting heat. Best example is when you touch it, you feel it's warm although it's actually the heat from your hand that's bouncing off. If one could somehow put a thin layer of this on a lever blade it would solve the problem completely.

ok well seeing as you didn't seem to be able to answer me maybe ill try and explain why I asked.

Sending tarty a petition would hardly do any good seeing as they are retaillers, rather than manufacturers(ok maybe they make rock pads etc.)

I seriously doubt they'd have the time/money/want to employ someone to actually think about how to do this, nevermind actually design it and manufacture it in number that would make it profitable.

sorry your idea stinks of shit.

Rock pads are actually made by Sam Armstrong all the way away in singapore!! not by tartybikes.

Heated lever blades would be cool, but for the few months they would be useful I dont think its really worth the effort, theres many cheaper ways to keep fingers warm.

Buy a pair of decent gloves, and a small box of surgical gloves. Pop them on first then your normal riding glove. Keeps your hands nice and toasty.

There was also a topic about the condoms for your levers. Fatmike posted that up a few months ago.
