Greetings
Front or rear? You'll find a lot on rear discs if you hit the search button.A front disc basically gives you more modulation and quiet braking which is the greatest advantage, however Magura's are lighter, more powerful when properly set up and cheaper. ryan360
Its best to stay with hs33, disc on the front is alright but on back they can bend easily when your hopping around.
JohnyMilton
hey i ride a Disk up front and its nice its a Avid Juciy 5, then on the rear i ride a avid vbrake, you will find a lot of people run that set up, you should think about giving it ago, its nice to ride!! dont ride a disk on the rear because the mounts could snap easily, it happened to me!!!Johny

Broomer
Its best to stay with hs33, disc on the front is alright but on back they can bend easily when your hopping around.want to explain how?
fyfey
want to explain how?I assume he means by catching it on stuff. Like a derailleur. Probably not that likely, but when you're starting off anything's possible!
ben.richardson
How can you say that rear disks bend, have you tried one? mines done fine and im a fairly harsh rider. The disk doesn't catch unless e.g you side hop a wall and your front wheel misses the wall and your rear wheel catches your rear disk is then likely to catch which is very rare hasn't happened to me yet. Ghetto Rider
Alright People,Disc front - low centre of gravity, great bite! and feels / looks awesome!Rim brake back - high centre of gravity, great bite! good for staying on back wheel....- PS - Has anyone used a maggie on back then changed to disc?? easier to balance or harder?? ben.richardson
I used to ride with a magura on the back ,it takes a bit of time to get used to because you're used to the squeak of the pads hitting the rim and that's when you know the brake has locked on but i wouldn't say it makes it easier to balance
Richard jersey
I have a disc on the front and a HS33 on the back! It works well like that. I don't like having a disc on the back though! If you have the money then i think you should get a disc on the front!Richard
ben.richardson
have you even tried a disk though
MattB
I have used a monty with maggies front and rear and now i use dual disc and i can honestly say the dual disc is 10 time better. I feel like theres more stopping power in the wet and the dry. Gives me more confidence as well. There also less hassle than maguras so if you get the chance to go dual disc i say do it.
