Gavyn.
ahhh pit bikes, i was wondering what you were meaning, there good fun but you'll be bored of it soon enough and want something biggerjust out of interest why did you get a thumpstar when '80 big wheels are a fair bit faster and some are cheaper too? CJtrials
Hi, I used to have a cheap chinese one, then I got a Thumpstar the same as the one above. To be honest it was s**t, they are no good whatsoever off road because of the size of the wheels. I sold it and got a Yamaha YZ 85 and to be honest it is awesome!! My advice to you if you're wanting an off road bike would be a proper motocross bike... you will regret getting a pit bike, mine broke down every time I rode it!!! CJ.. Guest
I've had mine since summer, I got one because they are easier to throw in a car or a normal trailor than a full size MX bike, and I got mine for £280 in new condition. They do break if you rag the shit out of them, and the cheaper chinese one's need looking after, but the japanese one's tend to be better made. My main problem has been chain tension issues, you really need to keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't get too slack.....
Badboy
I had a mini-bike (120 thumpstar pro) an it was wikid!I am over 15stone an almost 6ft an it was pulling my arms out! they are ballistic.I have riden full size MX an enduro bikes an the thumpstar was much more fun.Soon as I can i will be gettin another thumpstar! Gavyn.
chain issues are the most annoying things ever my mate snapped his chain riding through a river with me riding close behind he got wet feet and i nearly lost my head when the chain flew right over me.I had a mini-bike (120 thumpstar pro) an it was wikid!I am over 15stone an almost 6ft an it was pulling my arms out! they are ballistic.I have riden full size MX an enduro bikes an the thumpstar was much more fun.Soon as I can i will be gettin another thumpstar!you've got to try a 80 the power band is nuts i nearly lost my grip on the bars the first time i had a go

I bought it second hand and when I took off the chain slider, the chain had cut right through it into my swinging arm!! I was gutted! My chinese pit bike 110 was better than my thumpstar, I had it about 5 months before I got my thumpstar and it never broke down once!!CJ.. I bought it second hand and when I took off the chain slider, the chain had cut right through it into my swinging arm!! I was gutted! You should've contacted Olly at MXCUTZ.co.uk, as he races thumpstars. He makes his own swing arm protectors an they are the bollox! DannyB used to go through a standard one everytime he rode, then got one of Olly's an that was it, never changed it again. (till he got a Five0 swing arm that is!!)Your YZ 85 a 2stroke yeah? I have riden some mental bikes (my bro had a YZ450F that would out pull an R1). An I would still have a pit bike over a "proper" MX bike for fun any day. CJtrials
Yeah mine is a two-stroke..that was the main reason I got rid of my thumpstar, it really really did my head in lol, we tried every design on ebay and it chewed straight through it!!! . My dad has an R1 and I just told him about your bro's 450f, he said it might beat one off the line but it wouldn't be in front for long lol...CJ.. Fixed Pantsâ„¢
I've got a Cag 47cc Mini Dirt bike, put a 'performance' 49cc engine in it and it's ok, also got a bigger pinion (3 teeth bigger but haven't used it with that set up yet)It may only be a cheap chinese one but I reckon it gets 30, even more so 'cos i've got a bigger pinion...Haven't riden it for about 6 months though, need to get to a track one day soon! (Does anyone go to Traq in Mitcham?)Sorry about the bollocksed pic, i was messing about in PS and accidently saved over it :hmph:I it!I'd love to ride a ThumpStar, look bloomin' fast!Forgot to mention the fairing got a bit buggerer so i took the main bit off and cut it down so it's a smooth curve and i painted it pink with 'sensaul pink' house paint, also sprayed it a bit ofrange that was left over from my bike! Guest
blahsorry dude, but they are something totally differant, alright for a bit of fun when lit at 3am riding round the street's if it's a mates, but I wouldn't buy one myself, My mate went up a lowered kerb, and snapped his shock, not that it mattered, they are like £10 to replace....but yeh, they are made for kid's and can't hand;e even light off road....very tempremental too... Fixed Pantsâ„¢
NOO! Mines beasty, i used to take it over 'the field' at the bottom of my cul de sac, it was fine, and i went down a massive pot hole, half the wheel went in and came back out unscathed, also pretty fast, it's my first and only minimoto so i didn't wanna spend too much on my first.NEED TO GET TO A TRACK SOON!Pisses me off to be honest, i wanna use my minimoto and RC nitro car but the minimoto track charges 30 quid for 9-11 am sat and sun, and my RC car is broken, which i can't afford to fix.BEING POOR PISSES ME OFF!
