Elliot
I have a choice between 2 echo bounce frames, one with v mounts and one with 4-bolt:One was bought for £75 and is in better condition, just a couple of small dents and one or two scratches. I run maggies on its v-mounts, which makes the seat stays flex a fair bit, although I only have the normal Maggie booster. I have been riding this frame a few months, and though I have heard horror stories about these frames cracking when you sit on them, I have not had a problem. That’s said I only started riding trials last year so I don’t give it that much of a pounding. The other frame a mate of mine bought for £60 and is willing to swap with me. It is more scratched and has a few more dents, but it all seems cosmetic, and it has 4-bolt mounts, which I could fit a four-bolt booster to get rid of the flex and have better braking. Sounds gay I know, but I also haven’t got the trust in this frame that I have in the other. So what should I do? Stick with the original or swap? Ali C
I would keep your frame, but bosh a vee brake on the back and get a decent booster, best of both worlds then

Muel
Don't get either, look for a frame thats not dented at all and pay a bit more, then it will last you longer and will have the spec you want.
abtrials
do a swap with your mate, i bet his fram was brought off of the forum from the trials commentator a?and if thats the case it has not been used to much and should be fine.he only had it for a few months befor he got a new one, so do the swap or get a v on the one you have
GTF
Dont use magura hs33's. They are bad! Get a vee instead
Mooore!
either get a vee (thats what i would do) or get a vee brake booster instead of (or aswell as) the magura one & run it to the lower holes. You'll need longer bolts & spacers & its a bit of a tw*t to set up but it will stop the flexing a little. Thats what i did on my old bounce but then i saw the light & got an xtr v instead. Was much better.
Rich Pearson
If you get the fourbolt frame, you can then get some onza adaptors to change to V if you like, rather than if you stick with the V bossess and then want a maggy again and have to run evo mounts. So I'd go with the fourbolt one.Rich
Elliot
wow i didnt expect so many people to come out extolling the virtues of v brakes over hs33s!! Since posting I had decided to keep the v mount frame with the hs33s on evo mounts and try and bodge a four-bolt booster on it. I was speaking to a guy about a heatsink booster cos they have the greatest range of spacing, which I recon I could get to fit over the evo mounts. But all of this advice to the contrary is making me think, would the 4-bolt frame with a 4-bolt booster perform that much better than the v-mount frame with a bodged on 4-bolt booster? Fraid I really cant see myself getting v’s, not only have I just forked out on hs33s front and rear, but I am yet to be convinced of their single digit potential (no offence, probably just never seen a decent one set up properly!).Ps the four-bolt frame was indeed bought off of the trials commentator by my mate. The v-brake frame is in fact your old frame bigruss, that I bought off you last year! TF purchases all the way!!!!
Mooore!
Get in there. Glad to hear she still gets good use. There's a few riders from the isle of man on this forum, ask them about how well i had the V set up on that frame. I've got a HS33 on my new Hifi and it feels pants compared to the old XTR. Is just as powerful but not as nice.
