Echo Lite Mod Frame?

Just looking for some reviews on the frame really, have heard of a few bad things but just want to know whether they are true of not...

Firstly, are they strong? does anyone know of any snapping/cracking?

I heard something about the chainstays and chainstay length being abit messed up as far as chain tension is concerned?

and in result this effecting the brake set up?

The frame is AWSOME in my eyes... because they are so f**king cheap...

Its strong and i never heard anything bad about them...

Its a bit flexy in the magura mounts, so i recomend u to get a booster...

I want a echo lite frame my self now... but i cant afford it...

btw... i think you need to hurry up... they are out of production...!

that looks sexual mate... the one im swapping for it alrite, just needs a few parts replacing here and there, might swap my black king headset for a red one so that it matches the rear profile and then might get a front red hub of some sort... and white rims :| the possiblitys are endless but i can see myself regretting going from stock to mod :(

Unless you are over 6 foot you will love it, I find stocks too big and heavy, Mods are easier to do stuff on, but I am only 5"9...

You don't need a booster to be fair. If your pads grip well there is no reason you will be pulling hard on your brake. Mine doesn't feel spongy atall. You can see a little flex but it isn't a problem.

As for the chain tension, no problems there either. It is perfect without a half link.

Trust me Jon, don't go mod it's boring can't tap or front gap a mod for shit I don't think you'll be able to do much on one well epsep from gaps as thats what you getting one for basicley, what you told me on the phone. I think you should stay with a stock, I wished I'd never even gone to mod, I'm so glad i'm back on a stock now though there's lots more stuff for me to do on a stock

Mods also are crap for rail gaps, can't tap mods very high either, hard to front gap .. there only good for sidehops, you were just getting your taps going down aswell and gaps to front.

My mate has a massive problem with chain tention and pad set up with his Team, but I haven't had ANY problems with my Lite AT ALL, and my mate snapped about 4 bashplates, on the mounts, and now every mount is cross threaded.

Lite rides much nicer aswell IMO.

  • 3 months later...
I thought people had problems with the cracking somewhere?

Unless they were first batch ones... :ermm:

My one was fine that was with a Profile and Viz rear hubs at different points. Also a four bolt booster fitted with a little modification. But it is reccommended that you run some sort of booster.
