Jonnyb92
I have just recently ground both my rims on my MOD Onza T-Pro. I started with the front wheel and noticeably got better by the time I had done the back one. This posed a problem as the back break had worked very well and the front still has an element of slipping slightly. I was just wondering how to make the grind very sharp and rough to grip the pads better because both of the rims look the same although I think I used a steeper angle on the second wheel.Any help would be much appreciated!Jon
Dan6061
What pads have you got?
Guest
If you have a perfectly circular disc, cutting slot's out of it with a hacksaw will help to roughen up the grind, but does increase the chances of the disc catching and kicking back at you, so be careful if you try it. Try holding the ginder at differant angles to the rim too. When I used a rim brake on the front I ground my rim's and was using heatsink pads, definately a fantastic brake buit there was NO modulation whatso ever, on and off was all I had, which is why I ended up getting a dic as I missed silent, modulated braking.... Jonnyb92
I'm using magura (red) wet weather pads i think. and i'd rather not cut the disc because it's not mine, but I will use a steeper angle as that was effective the first time! Thanks,Jon
Guest
Your pads are probobly what's most detremental to you braking.A set of softer pads would be muchmore suitable. Onza citrus are a cheap option but do tend to wear away very quickly....
