its a ctx

steve.

Ha ha, classic... he means CRT... like cathode ray tube, the old style ones that are super huge at the back... from before the days of flatscreens. And i take it you mean CTX as the brand that makes cheap flatscreens. I just found the miscomunication quite funny.

Erm, have you tried pressing the de-guass button on the flatscreen? They can be prone to going crazy or blurry sometimes due to interference from things like magnets, being moved etc. The de-guass (sp?) button should sort it out. If not, have you plugged it into the right place and are you sure it was the screen that died last time and not the screen and graphics card?

Yeah, on the monitor, not on the computer. I'd be very surprised if it didn't have it, look harder, press more buttons :P

how old is pretty old?

does it even have a firmware style menu? i.e you press one button to bring up a menu, then you can scroll through the options and adjust what you want?

if so it should be in there somewhere.

if not, then you are screwed, just hit it hard until it either goes off or goes normal.
