Davetrials
Ive noticed recently ALOT of people just have basicly jibbed riding off cos they seem to have no will to actually ride, who else has this atm? do you no why?ive been the exact same recently but i went for a quick 45min ride and its inspired some confidence and i actually want to ride again:Obored:(
RicH_87
yeh me, but its mainly the weather.i don't mind being out on my own if its sunny and warm, but when its windy and cold i just get out and think to myself "why am i bothering". If i had a mate or 5 it would be more bearable in the rain, but as it is, i'm not up for it at all.roll on the summer.
Brian Bleech
I went out on my own in the rain on Monday had a great time! But yeah mostly when it's wet and no one else is about, pro evo is just way more tempting.Rich gonna have to ride soon with you dude! Ali C
I have been riding 8 years now and I see people slacking often, even me at one point or another.I still do it as I always have goals, they are comp based......win a comp, come top 5 that year, move up a cat etc, now I have been moved into masters at the worlds that makes me want to ride even more, now my next goal is to do as well as I can at the worlds.I guess it can be moved to street riding as well, but I cant see it being as satisfying. Krisboats
I'm the same, not gone riding since just before december, and even then i didn't really ride due to a dodgy back brake. I guess when it stops raining at some point this week i'll stop doing uni work and get some riding done.People are generally more depressed in winter, depression makes you unenthusiastic, hence no riding will. Ali C
I agree, but is having the goals and beating them as satisfying as doing the same with comps? Propbably for a lot of people actually me included sometimes, but with comps you get medals
GTF
You got a point there, but there is very little/none comps here in norway. Mabye Ill come and stay with you a year soon, Ali?

I lost that when i quit, even though i tried to get back into it a year later i just couldnt find the motivation, plus i had put on too much cheffing weight which didnt help the slightestNot got a bike at moment but still got the main parts, frame, wheels etc to get a bike on the road should u have the urge to ride, u never knowFrooty
Ash-Kennard
pah, just ride all the time, tis good for you
Nick Garland
Unless its absolutly pissing it down, theres no reason not to ride, makes you find the extra grip on tyres and brakes you never thought you had and you also ride alot better due to worse conditions. yoyoyo
I was thinking exactly the same thing earlieryeh me, but its mainly the weather.i don't mind being out on my own if its sunny and warm, but when its windy and cold i just get out and think to myself "why am i bothering". If i had a mate or 5 it would be more bearable in the rain, but as it is, i'm not up for it at all.roll on the summer.Couldn't put it better myself. In this weather it's too wet and windy to warrant getting the bike out, riding into town and then do the actual riding. But at the moment exams and laziness have got in the way.Only inspiration i need is nicer weather and a couple of classic vids and i'll be back in full swing. Ali C
but if the weather is shit, then why not do somthing else that helps riding? like run, or do some light weights or go swimming...plenty to do guys
Greetings
Yup, just go and ride some small stuff, do some spins, tech moves. 'Tis really fun!
Jez
With me it's the initial "do I wanna go out for a ride after work or go home and collapse onto my ass for the evening".Once I'm past that and I'm actually out riding it's great. It's rare I have a 'shit ride'. It happens, but meh; rain, how long/hard the day's been and what time I have to get up (if it's a weekend) are the main factors that stop my ass getting out to ride. If it's before 1pm on a weekend it's probably not gonna happen, hence I miss most of the brum rides Thankfully work's calmed down now so I'm finishing at my official finish time for a change so I can ride in the evenings...just annoyed at this damned rain at the mo. Riding in the wet sucks around here, all the walls are those smooth red/black brick type ones, absolutely lethal when wet. What I'd give for a concrete loading bay round here. Although even if we did have that, heatsink reds + wet rims is usually a bad idea
