future orange 660
its probably alot easier on a mod than a bmx. on a stock would be a bit tricky id have thought.
PaRtZ
its probably alot easier on a mod than a bmx. on a stock would be a bit tricky id have thought. You reckon? BMX's are easier to get the front wheel up because they've got a shorter top tube. So similarly they're going to be easier to get weight over the front wheel because they're shorterAs for stock, yeah I don't think tricky is the word lol I wont say impossible because danny mac will probs prove me wrong

Rich Pearson
I really, really hate to say it, but BMX is absolutely leaps and bounds ahead of us in terms of evolution.

A!!
a tyretap without a correction hopHahaha, you do have a point there. But either way it is seriously crazy, and he is a bit of a nutter. I was looking at a picture sequence the other day of a guy doing a backflip to an abubaca on a bmx, on a vert ramp. 'Twas in Ride magazine. Crazy shizzle. steve1rc
Has anyone tried that kind of thing on a trials bike?Just wondering because my bmx mates are hiring out skaterham sometime and i'm going to take my trials bike along, maybe try flips into the foam pit Steve
eskimo
To be fair trials can only get better by doing bigger gaps, hops, hooks etc. That is what trials is about not tricks.Neil T is pushing it forward with bunny hop taps and huge hooks. But there just ain't enough of us to push it forward that much. There is still a limit to how high the human body can huck up a wall. We just haven't got there yet. I predict in a few years people will ride into 10 foot walls out of a manual and just literally ride up it to a hook.

eskimo
10ft lol dream onSeriously you didn't even give it any thought. Maybe trials riders just need to believe. All you have to do in convert forward momentum into upwards momentum. Yes without a kicker you would have to travel very fast. Think your bike is almost 6 foot tall when stood up. To hook you don't actually have to hop 10 foot to get up a 10 foot wall as the bike is rather long. So say 5 foot when in a hook. Then plus 2/3 foot of hop and there you go, you only actually have to travel 2/3 foot up the wall. Just to state the point, freerunners run up 10 foot walls. Why not trials riders? Jonny Jones
Before Brisa Bikes went bust, Nelson Reis (team rider and all round Bike Show show-stopper) was working on a front-flip from back wheel at the Brisa HQ in the states. Essentially all he had was a narrow platform, similar to a diving board but obviously more stable, and he pulled a few front flips off into the masive lake the guys had there at the HQ. I heard nothing more and that was pretty much the last time I spoke with Roger, the guy who owned Brisa. At least, I think thats what he was telling me in his emails. That BMXer is mad though, some crazy videos on MetaCafe of BMXers jumping down huge stair sets and the bike completely crippling upon landing, and they pretty much die on the scene, but luckily make a recovery - only cos they aren't wearing helmets, a lesson I do believe.JJ.
