BIGA1
Are the echo hifi frames any good and what is better the hifi frame or the adamant A1 frame.cheers.
Ali C
worst frame I have ever owned for trials and that includes all the xc or dual frames I have used.Which year adamant are you after? The 07 isnt bad, MUCH better geo than the hifi, but the older one with the bb in the clouds was truly horrificly nasty!
(chief)
no they are rubbish the bb is to high and they are the worst bike to ride ever i would recomend ether a zona zenith or a ashton when the new one comes out.chris
pitbull-91
Hi i would recoment a zoo pitbull, but the long is way too long for me and the short is too short so unless your short or tall then its no good, woh thats all abit confusing lol , the Simtra St-1 has very good geo and i have heard good things about it so if you can stretch that much i would suggest getting one.hope this helps,Adam. eskimo
I was using the friendly search option looking for HIFI stuff then came along a review. I thought yeah could be some nice information in there. Upon opening i see Ali's post which i didn't think much of it as we all know he likes high bb frames sooo much. Then upon looking at the next 2 posts i see more ranting which is soo helpfull while on my quest looking for HIFI stuff.Man this thread sucks and you should all be ashamed. So much for the search button that you all go on about. Sorry rant over and have a late bump. Which will save me creating another thread which would just fill up with this sort of banter and leave another person annoyed.

Krisboats
They do ride very badly indeed. Boumsong had one, and it was one fo the worst frames i've ever tried. The wheelbase is normal size, but the cockpit room is smaller than my old base ta26. Its also horrid on the back wheel, and generally rode quite heavy when i think back to it.I wouldn't advise getting one.
RobinJI
Yeah, to be fair, to make a high BB feel remotely good you need a huge wheelbase and a longish rear end, so say +55bb, 1110wb, 385stays, that would be alright (although personally I wouldn't like it, but it'd be good for some people). But +55bb, 1085wb and 375stays is just going to be horrible. You have to give the frame some credit though, as it encouraged some progression in geometry and people to try new things. Even though most people are no longer fans of high BBs, it was nice for there to be something different for a while, and there's now a greater variation in geometry across frames, so more people will be able to get a good match to there style. But then again, that was probably more the vinco that did that than the HIFI anyway.I really haven't heard many people ever say HIFIs are nice to ride. So I'm guessing that's a good pointer as to whether they are or not. I mean, most frames have there fan clubs, but the HIFIs fan club is more a lonely single guy sat in his basement than a club. eskimo
does it matter?ride one and you will see for yourselfNo offence but you are an idiot. Thanks to the last 2 posts as they were nice and helpfull. I did speek to one guy on msn who said they were alright to ride. The fact of it having a back end isn't right but does allow it pick up quicker. Which might be a advantage to a bunny hopper. I would like a go on one but no one has them. Ah well, they look real nice anyway.

Once you have, and have comeback with a true impression of the bike, that is when you can argue your case. Not before, as you you are defending something you know very little about. And don't call me an "Idiot".
eskimo
Right... That is quite contradictive, and as I said, ride one and see. Once you have, and have comeback with a true impression of the bike, that is when you can argue your case. Not before, as you you are defending something you know very little about. And don't call me an "Idiot".Why is it contradictive? Because i asked you for a reason upon your flaming of a frame you clearly don't like (maybe 'cause of it's high bb)?But your other reply which said "ride one and find out" is just dumb because there is noone around with a HIFI which obviously if there was i wouldn't of asked what they were like.Another thing why would i want to argue with you about a frame which i'm trying to find out about?? But yeah my apologies for calling you an idiot but your shear arrogance just annoys me.
Ash-Kennard
FFS, I wasn't actually implying go and ride one, I was saying that if you rode one, you would agree with me, they are disgusting. BTW I really like high BB frames, just not the HIFI. In my initial post I was only voicing my opinion on how very few if any riders actually like them, that is the reason there aren't many around. PS, this is contradictive No offence but you are an idiot.

Sorry, but with an initial post like this, you really do look like a tit. Ali gave an opinion, fair enough he might be biased against high bb bikes, but his opinion on this frame was spot on. The post after was also correct, as was ash's.It is, a god aweful frame. Thats it, nothing else to say about it. Yeah the headtube looks nice, but the short chainstays with the high bb make for an overly twitchy and just plain annoying ride. It sucks for bunnyhopping, because of the weird geometry your body position is in totally the wrong place to be able to swing the bike up. If the bb had been 30mm lower it would have been a great frame.... alas, its not.I don't think this needs to go on any longer really does it?EDIT: As for the argument with ash, just leave it. He is yet ANOTHER person who didn't like it, he says so and you call him an idiot. And ash.... how is it contradictive ... i dont get what you mean :$ Edited March 22, 2007 by Krisboats

PS, this is contradictiveWhat is contradictive the fact that it appeared that you were implying go and ride one or that you think i'm an idiot?Perhaps i might agree that they might not ride as nice as they look but that is what i'm trying to find out. If you read back the only reason that i said 'idiot' was because you said "does it matter" which i said yes (in this case it does) because i would like to know why. Being i don't know you would not like it for the same reason that i would/n't so it does need an explanation. Do you follow where i'm coming from?As an example if someone (person A.) said "are rock blue pads good" and someone else (person B.) said "no they aren't" person (A.) will now be confused because everyone else are saying they are good. But person (B.) did not explain that he hated them because they were too grippy and didn't have much modulation.[edit] stupid smilies came up instead of the needed letters. heh. This is why i am annoyed with certain replies. Also i never said people were wrong. As for the second part of your post that is what i was trying to get at. A nice reason for why you don't like it.And as for it not needing to go on any longer i can agree as we are all getting annoyed with one another. I did apologise but have given my reasons.
