Broomer
my subscribtion for norton antivirus has expired, is it worth renewing the subscribtion or is avg good enough because it is free.
Si-man
Get AVG, is only £20, and you get renewal at half price (lasts 2 years)

ted
oh i was told avg was free, oh its for a laptop aswell so i want something that doesnt use much memory running in the background. The free version is rubbish. At the moment i'm using a 30-day trial version of AVG ( 7.5 i think) and i'm quite impressed.

munkee
avast 7kasperskyavg freenod32the only ones i remotely like.. mcaffe, norton etc have become too bloated nowadays. Meaning they try and do more than just antivirus which is annoying.
Krisboats
Comodo Firewall and AVG 7.5.They're the only two things you'll need. Maybe adaware at a later point, but its not essential. Bugdoctor is quite good too, but this only sorts spyware and missing program links etc.
br3n
panda is pretty good as well, full evaluation edition can be dl'ed from panda.com i believe. You cant really say that any are better than others, Most use a communal list so you're really paying for the interface...I've never really needed a firewall/virus scanner in about 6 years... Perhaps once or twice but its not as bad as people make out. Edited January 8, 2007 by trialsmad
Orgun_Donor
Avast 4 Home Edition, better interface then AVG just as good definition database and updates. And its free. And Commodo Firewall, is just the shizzle!
