Ben Cox
-->QUOTE(danny B @ Jan 8 2007, 12:10 AM) ←yes they were originally made for the coustellier original team, they are carbon and v.expensive but the reaction that theses forks give when ridin is great they are a true peice of engineering class for trials unfortunatly thought they are not easy to make how much is v.expensive? we talking more than a full t-comp? or around 300 mark? AdamR28
I believe the price for the ones Danny has should have been around £10k... Complex one-off parts don't come cheap

JoNnY__Mc
really liking the looks of all three bikes, ALOT!!!! i want a limey now, thanks alot the rear of the limey does look abit like a zona zenith (to me...) apart from a few differences... infact what are the differences between the old and new limey, i didnt get the old one due to seeing a few snap. is it designed specifically for comp use? Has anyone seen my shoe?
Having seen it built up it looks much better then I thought it would. (Limey)I like the Dual aswell, good idea, how mch does it weigh frame only?
mat hudson
why is the ickle bikes back wheel non drive radial that'll knacker that king sharpish.
danny B
because it doesn't really matter how he has got it spoked because ash doesn't weigh anything lol and it matches his front wheel lol and for him its cool lol
Ali C
what differences does this limey have over the one you roide at the worlds? That one rode really nicley, was awesome....if this one is better then it must be mint
Tomm
I believe the price for the ones Danny has should have been around £10k... Complex one-off parts don't come cheap Um... Surely Danny didn't drop 10k on a pair of forks for himself?Anyway, that Limey looks lovely
Shaun H
Um... Surely Danny didn't drop 10k on a pair of forks for himself?Anyway, that Limey looks lovely I'm guessing he didn't, the Coust team did for him...As Adam said, one-off (or 4 lots? Coust brothers and Butler brothers...) complex CNC crowns and dropouts plus carbon tubing doesn't come cheap. I imagine they'd be drastically cheaper to produce and purchase were they made in more economical numbers.I like the Limey but not the T-Lite or Dual. AdamR28
Um... Surely Danny didn't drop 10k on a pair of forks for himself?True... sorry, I wasn't clear before, thats what they WOULD cost if someone wanted a set. I believe BETD did all the machining for free, Dave assembled them, etc etc...
Badboy
Speaking to Dave when those forks were made, to put a production run of about 100 pairs of forks would still have the retail price of about £1000 each. There was a hell of a lot of R&D that went into those forks as well.Liking the bikes Dan an Ash. Makes me tempted to dust of my old gear an have a mess around again!!! Who knows, after all this time I might still be able to wheelie!!!Dave is that Dual your new steed?

scotty
liking the look of the limey more than the first pics that have been on the internet. I ride the first limey and totally love it. its a bit battered now though. Just wondering if the geo is similar? Also is the downtube still the same thinkness, I'm running with a fairly large dent in mine at the moment. still wouldn't put me off if it was to be honest.long live the limey. hascotty
danny B
the limey2 has more or less the same dimensions as the first as they seemed to work really well. and the down tube is a little thicker as well however the massive difference with this frame over the last one is of corse the massive increase in rigidity because of all the gussets and braces it rides so much more responsive. Suitably thicker? Or literally only a little thicker?
danny B
thick enough that it doesn't dent off the little nudges like the old one you would have to really smack it one but i still don't advise to just randomly smack your bike to test lol
Mark W
Suitably thicker? Or literally only a little thicker? Both, probably. The difference is probably only in the 0._mm range, but it'll still make a big enough difference. On Fly BMX downtubes, they go from being 1.2mm walled tubing to 1.6mm walled tubing where they think it needs to, and I know on the old T-Bones the tube walling would only vary at most about 0.5mm and that'd make a huge difference to it...The bikes look nice built up. On the close-up, I thought it was a mod on the left at first. That back end on the Limey looks nice and compact
MikeHayes
Both look really nice specially like the limey though The white rims do it justice.See you at YMSA Cheers,Mike
