powerz
im probably not the best at describing this but when i done mine recently for the first time i held the grinder so that the disc was nearly flat on the rim just to take the paint of, once the colour was all off the rim i then held it at a 40 degree angle and pushed slightly on the grinder and went round the rim. probably completly wrong but its worked for me Edited January 6, 2007 by powerz

trials_mad
My advice would to be quite harsh when grinding the rim and not run the angle grinder round in a regular pattern with the same lenght strokes with the grinder. Try to make little stabs at the rim and this will give you the roughness of a good grind.
