AdamR28
Hi guys,Just after a bit of advice please... been browsing around various stores and there's a huge choice of wireless ADSL routers! Now, we need one that DEFINITELY works with BT Broadband. My girlfriend bought a Netgear one and neither of us have been able to get it to work despite them reckoning it should...So, any suggestions? Price isn't too much of an issue as long as it is reliable! We ideally require two USB/PCI wireless adaptors too, however if they need to be bought separately that's not too much of an issue.Cheers in advance!Ads

Nick Garland
Well I cant guantee it will work with BT Broadband, however I cannot see why it will not.I am using a Belkin setup which works perfect, as does my freinds, he has had a philips and netgear router. From experiences I would stay away from netgear.I am on cable and so is my friend however they do an ADSL version, which is here PC World link. This should be fine for what you need, it has built in firewall like most and a nice easy interface to use when setting up.Also I would reccomend the Belkin wireless cards, they have built in software for configuring which network to join. Very simple to install and use from experience PC World link, again from PC World.PC World do some pretty good prices if you do the web exclusive offer and order it online, then you pay in the store for the online price, its weird but works out cheaper than most places when they deliver.Hope that helps.Edit just read "ADSL Connection for BT Phone Lines" so if it doesnt work, go batter someone at BT with a large pole. Orgun_Donor
This is pretty much the router im using. But any router will work perfectly fine! How are you connecting and also what are you connecting with? Have you installed any BT software?Darren

Danny
The netgear should work fine since ADSL is just a generic standard. You tried doing everything here? You got microfilters on your do and bones?http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.cfg/php/...amp;p_faqid=
Nick Garland
Yea I also have the 125 mbps one, mines a slightly different model, last years or something, but my 360 does not support 125mbps mode so I am on 54. However unless you have 125mbps internet or actually transfer files over a lan, doesnt make much difference, mines for internet only, both internet devices are in my room
Krisboats
Hi guys,Just after a bit of advice please... been browsing around various stores and there's a huge choice of wireless ADSL routers! So long as you have a incoming connection line (from the filter on your phone socket) and outgoing ones to the computers (via rj45 cable or wireless) then it'll work. So long as she bought the right one.If you still have it let us know what type it is. Just the product code will suffice, like wb123g or whatever it is (should be next to the name of the router on the retail box). Has she gotten a wireless router when you need a wireless modem/router combination?I guess there could always be the fact that its a faulty unit. My netgear modem took about 4-5 minutes to set up. Just plug it up, turn it on give it your internet username/password for bt and it should be working. Then just install the software for the wireless adapters and your all done.Maybe you need to delete the old internet connection settings first. Maybe the firewalls blocking it. Maybe you havn't set it up by plugging one of the computers into it using a cable. The list is endless, but they are all about the same in terms of setting up. Its just a case of plugging them in correctly, then giving them the internet detaisl so they can connect... all that differs really is the input screens and the actual units themselves.... although, netgear are probably the best commercial ones alongside belkin.Pretty much any usb/pci wirless adapter will work with any router so long as its of the 802.11b/g variety. My netgear router has my mums laptop with a belkin usb wirless stick and my sisters laptop with a linksys wireless laptop card. Neither of them took longer than 10 minutes to install software and plug the adapter in to get them on the net.EDIT: Just realised 2 of my mates have netgear routers on BT internet, your units either faulty or its human error.
