trials_mad
I too also have problems with gapping but my brother is quite good at gapping and he has told me to lower the front wheel before gapping. Also try a preload and compress the rear wheel just before you kick as this gives you spring to gain height. The last point that i was told was to really get low before kicking and virtually sit on the back wheel and throw yourself forward and the bike will follow. This is the same when landing try and push the bike forward and lean back to gain maximum distance.
Bolty
use your body, and bend your legswatch how other riders gap and you will soon improve bolty..........
omgnoseat
my gaps have improved alot when i just let my front drop moreduring the preload you should drop the front, while leaning backwards and strechting your arms, then give a strong pedalkick and throw yourself forward, try to suck the bike up with you here.take a look at the retefeste vid from marco grosenik here:http://tv.isg.si/site/?q=filebrowser/BSXLThe gap at 01:12 is a perfect example of this, just look how low his front wheel ishope this helps
Josh Greenan!!!!!!!!!!
Get your back wheel right to the edge so your tyre folds then gap. It makes you go further, called pinch gapping. May take practise though.

tom 20
i was reading that and i though " does that say a foot ". 5 ft is ok but practice makes perfect really .. anyways yeh try and get as close to the edge as you can and sort of lower the front end and power out of it and you should go quite far ,, practice practice practice

onzatpro27
im still learning myself but , i was told if going from your rear wheel same as above on your pre load lower your front wheel before kicking down on your pedal slightly . its better than using pure body weight to get the bike up. Also focus on where your going to land be it on your front rear or trying for both and remember where your body goes your bike will follow. oh 1 last thing tuck up as high as poss no point if you fighting against your own weight. Always focus and put your all into it whats the point of going into anything half hearted.hope it helps .jay t pro.
