Make it out of aluminium, but a nice thick bit, about 6mm.

Best way would be to cnc them really

Wouldnt it be easier to buy them? £29, not that much really

Yeah it would be best to cnc but i dont have one so relistic ideas would be appreciated lol and to be honest i think its a rip off £29 for what they are tad over priced imo.

They arent a rip off, considering the designing gone into them, time and effort, stress testing, best quality material etc

Ahwell, your choice

I made some :P they work very well.

To start i went to my local aluminium dealer and bought some scrap 10mm plate off them, 10mm is thick enough to provide enough stiffness but not to thick that it makes the whole vee brake setup stick up to much. I then began making them, using only an angle grinder and some files :P the worst thing about making them is that the thread size for a vee boss is not a very comon size, it is M10 1.25mm pitch, luckily my grandad had one (he has everything) so i was in the position to finish them.

Because i made them with a grinder it is hard to explain realy how i did it.

cheers alot, my dad managed to get hold of the tap, only other question is how did you no where to tap the vee boss mount hole. Did you do it by measurements if so would you be able to give them me, or did you just line it all up against rim and mount and mark it

I just did it by drawing a line right down the centre of the material (as i wanted all vee bosses in the same line as the 4bolt holes) drilled the holes for the 4 bolt mounts then roughly worked out how close i could get to the 4bolt holes with the vee boss (remember that the bosses will need to be countersunk slightly due to the larger diameter above the threads)
