george_seamons
Lol. My dad is an enthusiast. He's not cool enough for that.If he was an "enthusiast", he really wouldn't be doing that to his car. Those rear lights are probably the worst thing you can do to a Focus. I understand people wanting to be different from the norm, but thats taking things a bit far. Although I guess its down to personal taste. Just not really the kind of thing you'd excpect a dad to do!Regarding no claims, it really does make a difference. My first year of driving, I had a '97 1.6 litre Peugeot 306 (group 5). It cost me £1200 TPF&T - no NCBSecond year of driving, I had a '99 Vauxhall Astra 2 litre turbo diesel (group 5). It cost £900 fully comp - 1 year no claimsThird year of driving, I've still got the Astra, its costing me £450 fully comp.I'm still only 20, so at the moment, age doesn't really come into it. I'm glad my parents wouldn't let me anywhere near there insurance, 'cos I would be paying about £2-300 now, if I was on their policy, but as soon as I came off, I'd be back to paying over £1k, something that would really screw people over. JTM
Yeah those lights and the stickers and badges are the worst culprits. And sticking specialist wheels like st170 or RS alloys on lesser models is a no no imo. Its not a ST so dont do it.Focus' are a nice shape imo, and they dont need much at all. Bucky
also if ur willing to get an old shape focus, 2.0 zetec z, is 150 bhp,(same power as buckys van, for anyone thats counting, and probably not a million miles off on the weight).and is group 8 insurance. focus's are common as muck, parts are cheap, therefore repairs are cheap,as theres loadsa about, u can pick a minter when you buy one, as theyll be plenty to look at it.gotta love the old shape focus with a 2.0 zetec.theres plentya bout now and if you get a ghia you have air con abs leathers electric everything.very very nice to drive i could happily drive t all day long and never get bored of driving or pissed of with any problems.ane even if you get parts any mechanic who knows what an engine is would be able to fix it no problems still wont keep up with my van though
