Hope floating disks require a special hub (which dave does have, but not on the wanted wheel build) The disk costs a fair bit but atleast getting that would mean he didn't waste the money on the magura marta brake all together because it doesnt work with any old disk as we discovered with the shimano disk.Phil Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hope floating disks require a special hub (which dave does have, but not on the wanted wheel build) The disk costs a fair bit but atleast getting that would mean he didn't waste the money on the magura marta brake all together because it doesnt work with any old disk as we discovered with the shimano disk.Philthey dont require a special hub.......they are 6 bolt fittingand yes, the rotor thing, the design of the rotor makes alot of difference-like the drillings will alter the cooling, etc, and some rotors work better than others. the shimano-if it was secondhand, it could have been quite worn/more skanky than you realised? if it was new...did you give it sufficient bedding in time?i always found the best rotors were the avid ones, all of mine (older and newer) worked uber well, not just on avid brakes, but on my hopes and hayes too Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
