Muel
Where can I buy RB levers from for hs33s?What new Mod frame shall I get (Under £200)? Thinking Zona zip maybe?Any recommendations welcomed! Thanks!
Guest
not sure about the RB lever, but for under £200 it's monty 221pr, I posted the same thing in NMC minutes ago....
Muel
My mate has one, its nice but I'm not really to keen, its nice but I just not used to it probably. What about an Echo Team, just seen it on selct bikes. The monty would let me run a rear disk if I wanted though...
Guest
If you can get a team for under £200 that's a fairly good offer. An echo lite is another option, but the geometry is much the same as the money but 10mm more BB rise 65, rather than 55 on the monty... Muel
OK, I'm not much of a fan of high bbs, and I really would like a disk in the future, the only problem is that my mate with the pr's rear wheel virtually fell apart because the spokes were getting twisted when he hopped. Will this be sorted if I get an eyeletted rim, to stop the holes flaring and releasingt the tension on the spokes? Adding eyelets and fancy spokes etc can't make up for a poor build. I'd go as far to say that any combo of rim/spokes/hub can last well if the rider runs decent tyre pressures (and doesn't do stupidly massive stuff of course!). Muel
Oh there is no chance of that! I have only been riding for a month and I have already spent £140 on my bike...This new hobby is going to be very expensive..Are T-PRO frames actually that good, because I have seen a few people putting front disks and new, well, everything on them. RobinJI
Yeah, I don't get all this stuff about how dual disc cocks your rear wheel up. Look in every other form of biking, do they complain about it? hell no. Before anyone says 'yeah, but in trials the forces are different' On my 24seven, I had an E4 on the back, so a bloody harsh break, and used it lots for technical streety stuff, abubucas and so on, and I never once touched the spoke tension. Same story with everyone else riding street, there's lots of similar forces, yet no-one there ever complains about the disc killing the wheel. At the end of the day, its the build that makes the difference. As said above, any wheel will last pretty well with good pressures and spoke tension. I had a mavic X517 on my jump bike doing near enough 6 foot drops to flat concrete, and that lasted a good year and a half.
AdamR28
Are T-PRO frames actually that good, because I have seen a few people putting front disks and new, well, everything on them.Very good frames, especially for the money... yes, there have been a fair few broken, but considering how many have been sold and how light they are (lighter than an XTP!!) that's very impressive. The 07 ones also have an open ended gusset at the head tube to cure that issue too...
Muel
I could actually understand how it could ruin your wheels in theory, because spokes can stretch can't they? But my mate's PR probably just had a shite rear wheel build by the sounds of it.If i decide to get a Zona Zip, is there any advantage over the T-PRO?I could just make a bracket like some have on here, to mount the rear disk on... Ben Cox
id just get the t-pro mate, fooking awesome frames i tell thee, im seriously considering selling my zona frame and getting one! i miss the old days of bunnyhops
Muel
My T-PRO frame is a bit scratched but has no dents at all and no cracks, so I think I will run it until my riding progresses enough to break it. At the moment I really like the geometry but I want to swop the flat bars for some low risers, ZOO! probably.I might even make a bracket for a rear disc, That would be a bit odd though, a twin disc T-PRO!No ideas on the RB levers though anyone?I may just get echo or ZOO! lever blades, or discs, you never know... RobinJI
Just go for some Echo lever blades, feels easily as nice as the RB, and doesn't have problems with leaking like thay do.
Guest
Remember to factor in the fact you need to buy a file to actually finish the lever blade, it seems deng hasn't bothered at least in the example below....
GTF
You can get RB levers from here.
Muel
They do look really nice, but I am wondering about making a dual disc T-PRO, by making one of the brackets shown on here.Problem is, what hubs to use?At the moment I like echo, but are there any better ones. Ewannnn
T-pro's dont have disc mounts (well the 06 one doesnt anyway) so i would go for that if your wanting discEDIT : sorry didn't read your post properly, yeah the echo hubs are suppose to be pretty decent Edited December 24, 2006 by Ewannnn
