MadManMike
Right,Got a 20gig iPod, first generation old skool jobby. It's a refurb'd unit so is basically brand new. When you install the CD it all goes ok, then you plug in the iPod and it says "Unrecognised Device" in the USB port... What the hell!Any ideas?I've tried installing and restarting then plugging in but it does the same thing.OS is XP and USB 2.0 and fast specs so it's not that either.Anyone? Smo™
Sometimes computers are just jackasses - have you tried plugging it in to a different USB port? Sometimes it's that simple.
MadManMike
Tried it on 2 laptops and one media centre in my shop - same problem on all of themAlso, when I turn it on it shows a connection logo I assume telling me to connect it to a pc / laptop? And when I do, it does nothing apart from the little bubble telling me it's not recognised. anzo
Aye, what you have to do is install the software CD first, and then during the installation bit it'll ask you to plug the iShit in.Although, usually it does recognise it as an Ipod anyway, regardless of if the software is plugged in. Are you getting the box up asking if it wants Windows to locate the drivers?I find a nice hard throw against a brick wall sorts them out...kind of. I did that with mine, £130 down the shitter
