RobinJI
Yep. Basically all rent-a-cops can do is tell you weight while they call the real cops. So just keep riding if they say anything to you. Around here there arse's too, there just on a total power trip. They always stop you for the stupid little things that real cops would just let go and not care about.Just carry around a walky talky in your bag, and if they say anything say, "What can you do about it then?" and just keep arguing and eventually they have to admit all they can do is get on there radio to the real cops. Which is when you get out your walky talky and say you're doing the same .
powerz
I hate ALL cops they have nothing better to do than moan & complain about you riding your bike. I have a few written warnings one just for using pallets at the back of my local comet store but i was out the other night riding with my mate when a community officer stopped us and was asking us all about our bikes like "How much do they costs", "how much do they weigh" ect ect then the copper says what can you do on them so we showed him a few spins and hops Like you do! and he asked my mate to have ago on his monty, It was so funny, a few cars went passed and bibbed there horns. we was talking about it all night, my mate said he thought the copper was going to nick it or something. So they are all mugs apart from one Edited December 15, 2006 by powerz
adam trials
i know some of the officers around my local riding spots and they are all ok with me riding as long as i don't break anything lol . they say that the would rather me be riding my bike out of the way than shop lifting. if they ask you to stop riding just ask them one question 'would you rather me be here or doing some kind of damage or stealing etc' the answer is always just don't damage anything

Orgun_Donor
Our local community Support Officers are alright, infact on is insanely hot But the bin men round here are tit heads! The think they are FBI or something, Had one "shouting" his radio saying "CCTV..... yea the guy int he white top with black trousers and a silver bike(refering to Woody)" But was like 50 - 80ish foot away. And the best thing about it is that we have been told we can ride there .
Captain Scarlet
Yep I hate them.Theres one in my town who acts like a hard nut because he can stop us, but you wont see him stopping any drunken louts on the street. The Pussy Policemans Apprentice, what happens if there is a real crime, where is the police officer? Si-man
Dont be getting cheeky though, because they are the police you know...They have to go through all the training etc. They can still get you arrested you know...
echo v onza
they are total dicks they always stop me when i'm riding. But now i just say '' ok i'm sorry it wont happen again '' ride round the corner and come back when they go. So much easier than arguing with them. Mike Beck
we dont have them walking round mansfield . Instead we get 'super-cop' who last year made over 350 arrests , who rides around on a pimped police bike that can push the sound barrier. No way of escaping him. We have wardens for the drinking and stuff buts thts bout it.lewis
Krisboats
The one in syston is about 25'ish and he's really quite cool about things. He generally just go's around tells the scallies and chavs to behave and comes over and talks to us about the bikes and how things are going in general. He used to bmx for a bit so he knows what its like... he says so long as we don't purposefully destroy things and don't go round acting like arseholes then its fine. Local police generally have the same attitude as well. If they get complaints they'll talk to us about it and tell us to just make sure we don't get itno any trouble with residents or the general public. nickyw
We have power ranger's round here too....I nearly got arrested and fined because Iam brakeless on my bmx. yoyoyo
I hate ALL cops they have nothing better to do than moan & complain about you riding your bike.Apart from keeping the streets safer, preventing crime, attending crime scenes, etc...All a community police person can do is deatain you until a proper policeman arrives, but then your f**ked if you've been checky to the community officer. Everyone has to start somewhere, and thats one way into the police force. So just remember, every community officer you annoy will sterotype trials riders when he gets promoted to the full police force. Not the best way to help the sport. A!!
We have power ranger's round here too....I nearly got arrested and fined because Iam brakeless on my bmx. Meh,That's my fault really.P.s There on giant mtb's round here. I've always wondered what they would do if your caught brakeless on a bmx, as i run brakeless. But as the the community support officers are usually in the town centre i just ride the spots on the outside. The thing is though, if i was caught i don't know what they could do, as it doesn't have any brake mounts to put a standard u-brake on it. You can only fit a really strange type of one on, as there is a hole in the wishbone piece between the two stays. So you need to have a brake like this with a single bolt mount. Needless to say i don't own one. But generally the ones round here are pretty stupid and most are on an ego/power trip. There was a chase a few months ago in the town centre for a guy that was stopped for riding along on the pavement slowly with his mates, and they stopped him and tried to fine him. But as he is pretty poor/refused to pay, he just beasted it off resulting in a three car chase and a few of them chasing him on foot. And in an attempt to try and stop the community support officers from getting him, his mate pushed one of them over.
Captain Scarlet
I just don't see the point in them, like I said, there is one in my town that thinks he is the man because he walks round a fluorescent jacket that comes down to his knees, saying "Community Support Officer".I really don't mind the proper police compared to these, the real police may be a stronger force and have more control, but they usually do talk nicer to you. future orange 660
are they paid at all or just volunteers?
fruitbat
Lots of you saying they cannot do anything, your wrong there is a lot they can doIf they see you commiting a crime or causing any damage they can detain you until an officer arrives to take it further. If you do argue and resist they do have powers to take further action to detain you until an officer arrives, action such as arresting you, similar to a citizens arrest just a little more legal.Best thing to do is respect them, they are only doing their job, if they ask you to move on you just do that, ride elsewhere and come back to the spot later when they're gone. Most of them are fine round here, they only get arsey when you get arsey with them.As for the above Q if they paid of volunteers, the PCSO are paid and its the step they take before applying to be a full officer. You do get some volunteers but they normally work on a Fri/Sat night with response teams in towns etcFrooty Edited December 16, 2006 by fruitbat
Captain Scarlet
I just hate the guy around your area, me and a few friends went in an abandoned building, when we came out we had a few outside waiting for us.The PCSO said "Was you in that building?, mate says "No".Later on some local comfirmed that he was inside, my mate said "Sorry mate" to the PCSO, and he replyed "Don't call me mate!, My name is Will!".I've said it before and I'll say it again, he just rips your head off about it. There wasn't any need to speak to him like that, he may be a PCSO but he isn't the proper authority figure. MadManMike
At the end of the day, what we do is illegal. Riding on the road would be fine, you can't hate police for stopping you doing something illegal. And I know it's annoying, I think sensible people should be allowed to ride on the path, but again there's no way to police that... Captain Scarlet
well you were tresspassing, bullshiting about being in the building until you were caught, i wouldnt be all chummy with you, you dumb sack of crapI wasn't, I told him as soon as he asked me.I mean there was another abandoned building we went in, a proper police officer stopped us and said; "I don't mind you playing, but being in a building like that is very dangerous, if you get hurt or damaged I have to pick up the pieces, just don't do it around here."See now thats alright, but with the other incidence with the PCSO, my friend did the best possible option and apologized, and didn't recieve a positive acceptance from the Community Support Officer. Was there really any need to call me a "dumb sack of crap"?
