Crank Extracting...

The Duck

Recommended Posts

Before you read the rest of this, I'd like to say I'm not retarded and I do know how to use a crank puller!

Right,

I've got a new frame (which happens to be on my lap at the mo) and I'm trying to take the cranks off my old bb to stick them on me frame. I've got my Park Tool Crank Puller and gone to pull the crank off in the same way I've done about 5 times before. It really doesn't want to budge. I've tried hitting the crank puller arm with a mallet etc, but its not going anywhere.

How do I get the b*****ds off?!

:( :$

you run isis? wham a 5p/1p down the bolt hole/whatever you kids call it this day do the pushy bit of the crank puller *lacks technical name* can push against the penny because mine goes straight through an isis axle. if its square taper you need some bigger arms!

Wehay! Done it :D

The sledge hammer technique works a treat... except now my crank puller (that was new about 2 weeks ago) now looks like its been used twice a day for 10 years...

It was worth it though! fwah... new frames a beast.

Thanks for all the help Guyths!! ({)
