streetjibs
iv been riding my used/abused/n loved ashton 24" for over 18months now. Its cracked but i luv it. Short wheelbase with a seat and geometry to die for. My riding has never been better. However im considering moving back to 26 if i can find a suitable frame? Looking for something short weel base (nothing above 1050ish!) with a seat and doesnt weigh a tonne...Iv seen a few but dont know if and where they are available... any information on these would be greatly appreciated.. thanks in advance:1. MTI Ti 26" (where can u get these from???)2. Charge .. not sure if available??3. Steel Megamo (would be perfect.. but unavailable..)Is there anything else out there similar style... even if they are like the old Zoo BOAS with the seat post... that wud be ideal.... ???If i cant find anything... im afraid il have to wait for Ashtons new 24s and hope they arent too different. Or.. il join the evergrowing Justice crowd... as thats bout the shortest cheap 26 i can find (no im not ridin a base!)Anyways... if anyone knows where to buy MTI ? or anything else similar... big thanks for any info!danny/. CurtisRider
3. Steel Megamo (would be perfect.. but unavailable..)a little while back somebody said something about a bikeshop that advertises on here (select or cleanbikes spring to mind) had a some steel megamos still left, infact chris akrigg was riding one not too long ago! so if you can sort shipping...base ta26s are pretty damn uber, 1040wb and feel ultra nice and streety, but are sweet for you usual trialsy shizzle too cheappp as fookery too! GTF
You can get custom made frames for Leeson, Curtis, etc.Or else you can look on the Base frames from Tartybikes.EDIT: Sorry, saw that Base thing now Wait for the new Ashtons Dont get a 26", get a new 24". Like the Heatsink 24UK or somthing Edited December 11, 2006 by GTF
djb
a little while back somebody said something about a bikeshop that advertises on here (select or cleanbikes spring to mind) had a some steel megamos still left, infact chris akrigg was riding one not too long ago! so if you can sort shipping...I phoned that shop (not the foggiest which one it was, sorry) a couple of months ago but the guy said the only ones left in stock had strange spacing for tandem rear hubs - I know it sounds mad but it's what the guy told me, I guess its some bizarre idea Megamo had that never took off.Unfortunately custom made seems the only way to go to get a short 26" with a seat, especially if you're after steel but i'd say stay 24" if you can, when I made the change I couldn't believe how much better it felt. Having said that there is a Boa frame on ebay which is sitting at £30 at the minute with bb, maybe get that if you need a bike now and then save for some Leeson loveliness or the new Ashton 24".http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ZOO-BOA-TRIALS-FRAME...1QQcmdZViewItem
