The Duck
Well thats the picture of it...[attachmentid=8562]... Take the reflectors off, get some new bars (and a stem if you've got enough dosh), New cranks wouldn't be a bad move, and if you want to be a sheep like me some maggies would be good too!And that seems like a pretty good order to do it in! tom 20
yh the maggies wouldnt go a miss or some really good v-brakes e.g. avids or something but i trust my hs33s . .. theres plenty of different cranks you could get. echo team stem, zoo bars etc. the list is endless really but im not being awkward or anything but why are you buying a bike to upgrade things on it?Tom
clarkytrials
If i was you,Ill get some Hs33's and some new pads to make the brakes ALOT more better. Then get some new crank's,By the look's of it,Square taper crank's is what you need unless your thinking of moving onto isis.Maybe run a front freewheel too.Bar's and stem will be a good move to make too. Also if your not on budget i would also recommend some new tyres and forks. But lets consontraite on the most important stuff first.P.s If your stuck on what pad's to get,There's loads and loads to choose from really.Maybe have a look at the pads review section elsewere on the forum. trials boi 06
ok helped alot what bars and stem would you recermend putting on?
Guest
I'd suggest changing nothing untill you've ridden it and found out what YOU don't like about it. Cranks wouldn't be fist on my agenda nor would brake's. The stem doesn't seem to bad but the bar's have almost no sweep by the look's of the picture, if you like flat bar's id go for something like monty flat's or maybe even try-all replica riser's as they have just a bit of rise.If you wan't proper riser bars then monty 221Ti bar's are the dogs gonads when paired with a 221Ti or a 221PR stem, but they would be very high with the stem you have.Brakes might end up being ok if you get a decent set of pads and grind the rims, you could get a set of heatsink coust V-pads or the red compound in the v-backing's and im sure the performance increase would be very noticable. if you do end up wanting to change to a set of magura's im sure you could sell the v-backing's and put that money towards magura's.But yeh, have a good few ride's on it maybe changing the bar angle a few time's untill you find what's comfortable, if you don't find anything comfy/don't like the feel of things etc. then it's time to change.....EDIT: that actually look's like an alright bike to be honest, remind's me of old megamo's....
