Endohopper
Can probably be repaired as an interesting project , but not in a way that they'll ever be trustworthy for riding duties again . As for half price replacement , I suspect that only applies to frames , and doesn't extend to componentry sorry . Must have had pretty poor spoke tension to allow the rim to separate itself . maxxis26
rims are usually spot welded or pinned take them to a company that works will aluminium, take it to your local industrial estate and see what you can find.i had one repaired before which had split at the join, it cost me 3 pound to have it welded and re pinned and i still have it in my shed as a spare 3 years onsee what you can find localy Edited December 4, 2006 by maxxis26
eskimo
Depending on how far the seam has ripped it is still ride-able. I was unsure on this but tartybikes assured me it was fine and built the wheel up. I think your best bet would be to loosen up all the spokes and true the wheel from the start. It should be fine then. But what Maxxis26 did was cool. 3 quid, can't go wrong there really.
kid creole
Yeah i am still riding one of the rims and was going to have the other one built up soon but then noticed the split which was pretty annoying as it exactly the same as the other one. i might get my mate to try welding them up again or maybe just get a new rim.thanks for the advice
