What Does Everyone Think About V-brakes

im looking aroud on tartybikes

and most of the new mods have got v-brakes

what are they? ,like any good?

Correctly set up , they can easily rival Magura HS33 , and at lower weight too . The key is carefully matching pad type to the rim , and cable choice is crucial . Not sure about using 'em on a Mod though .

keep your vees mate. maguras are a waste of money in my opinion. just get some heatsink pads, a booster and an ok set of leavers and you will never think about buying maggies again

i'm thinking about changing back to a rear v-brake, what brakes do u guys recommend?

anything from avid, simano deores can be good too and are cheap. I will only use avid levers though, they are the most ajustable.

Get some heatsink alloy backings and your choice of pad (or wait till the joypad vee pads are out) Also, get some nice cable, some bmx linear cables ould be good.

To be honest I feel more confident when using a bike that has a HS33 set-up.

But my friend has a standard Tektro V-brake on the back of his bike, works very well rarely slips, and with a bit of tar it works like a dream.

I just prefer the feel of Magura's though.
