ogre
what are you learning to do them on? i started on things i knew i could backwheel straight up (so i could concentrate on the technique and not puttin all my concentration on hucking my bike up said object) and learning on something with a sloped edge so i didn't have to worry about dipping my wheel to low and being totally screwed lol. what can't you get right? is it just not getting the height or are you clueless on what your doing? Orgun_Donor
From what ive been told by many people(Gavin Bedford, Adam Bessel, Ash Kennard to name a couple of the really helpful out there)"Just hit your front wheel into it!"Just try not to go to low or slow at it. And still trying to get the timing right, but its coming along!
Janson
plough. try to go through the wall. the harder the better. it is scary, but keep at it. increase tyre pressure up front. any height is a good height. i can tap 1.5' if i try. about 3ft is good to start practising them though, as any lower is harder really. patience is key. newb
Could somebody give me abit of advice about the part after ive hit the front wheel?Would be greatful,Lewis
Janson
let the bike fly up. try not to touch the back brake until your wheel touches the edge. it is hard at first, but makes it easier to go bigger, as even if you hit it waaay to low with the back, it can still roll up. on correctly placed landings it looks mega smooth too, add a little manual if you are feeling lucky. also, less brake squeak = quieter = smoother.find a nice wall and just go for it over and over and over. Ali C
if your back wheel is hitting the wall, then you may be tapping the front wheel too high.
poopipe
if your back wheel is hitting the wall, then you may be tapping the front wheel too high.or just not tucking enough - the tap doesn't do all the work, it just gives you a boost

Gaz M
Its simple really, find a massive wall, ride as fast as you possibly can at least 20mph, as you approach it smash your front wheel into the middle of the wall and lean back. Congrats your up

B.E.A.U
You want to watch pauly tap thats how you really tap. Just ride at it at a speed that suits you. Hit the front wheel nice and hrd near the top somewhere lean and push the bike up. I think thats how it goes. Works for me lol.
oakley
This is the best example i could find to show you, as it is a small wall.[attachmentid=8453]right, look, you need to hit the wall, just below the top, but hard.[attachmentid=8454]Then, as soon as you have hit it, when you get to this position.... you need to push the bars forward.[attachmentid=8455]To this position, dont worry about yourself yet, just push the bike forward. and your body will follow. and your up.so you can then do this [attachmentid=8456]had to be done lol, hope this helps! poopipe
just occurred to meyou're on a mod right? maybe start on something a little lower (2 1/2 foot rather than 3) - by the time you hit 3 foot you're running out of bike a bit which makes it harder to figure out how hard&low to hit. For high things you need to tap part way through a hop which is a lot scarier.
