Ghetto Rider
Hey Guys,Lately i've been getting fed-up with my local trials area as there is a lack of stuff to ride. We do have some cool stuff but it's just been milked so badly i loose heart when it comes to riding these places... Which is why we normally try and get out of our town and ride other cities / towns... I do like riding palets now and then but it's too much effort to ride to where they are, set them up, make a little course then start riding... Also at the end if you don't put the crates back they're not there when you next come back so this adds effort.Anyone got any valuble ideas for me to boost my spirit of riding my local area????Lets hear some ideas then fellow forum-ers!! Luke Rainbird
There's always a line you haven't tried, or technique you haven't used.By building youself up and working on these sorts of things not only will you become a better rider (in the sense of being able to ride bigger stuff, more refined technique et al) but you will undoubtedly find new ways of looking at a situation, and ultimately have more fun.I see where you are coming from though, don't get me wrong, you just have to take a different view of things from time to time, mix it up a little! Simpson
i always find best bet is doing something different to your "norm"i usually roll everything so to mix it up sometimes add in manualsto ups or spins - maybee experiment with taps and hooks *yar* just dont do the same gap the same way each ride
basher
try new things, such as if your a natty/technical kinda person then try stuff like bunnyhops and more old skool street moves vise versa. me and a mate sometimes just walk up to the trainstation board and pick a place to go and ride and then jump on train. can improve your riding alot going somwhere you have never been as your not repeating the same side hop agen and agen like if you was to ride local. just widen your range of moves you do and travel further a field to ride. Captain Scarlet
Play a game of P.I.G with your mates, its fun. And different.Try to make a line out of everything. For example, one of my favourite spots in my town is a large fountain area. Think of a line you could do in your favourite spot (Hmn I'll pedal hop off this drop, keep on the back wheel, spin myself around, pedal hop back on, place myself to do a 180, end). How about going to your favourite riding spots in a hit and run fashion, just ride to your favourite spots, without taking a break go right into a big trick, then keep the flow of your riding speed to go to another spot. What about different riding styles and things? matty
the way i see it is if you have rode your local area too much and have got bored it makes you want to go bigger like for instance near me theres 'the wall' isa wall about bar height (sandstone) and i has a gap and then gradually lowers i rode it that much i thought the same as you and got bored but now i love the place because i found that putting the bin on its side is an amazing gap.just look at an area there will always be a different line or even try something daft as in have a laff with your riding thats always a way to go! cheers matty
