Ash-Kennard
dude, get a bb7, its avid and its cable disc, but it has such an immence amount of such raw power you will never look back on anything. seriously, get the 203 bb7, you will love yourself more
RobinJI
Its true, there really isn't a need to spend £165 on one break, if its for trials either a BB7 or a mono trials 2007 would be much better than any modern XC break will be. Fixed Pantsâ„¢
From what i've been told, the BB7 has got no modulation what so ever, but it's a feckin' sharp brake.I'm sure there are a lot of other sites that will sell the 203m rotor. Orgun_Donor
From what i've been told, the BB7 has got no modulation what so ever, but it's a feckin' sharp brake.Lies, Plenty of modulation... kinda... There is enough to pull a stoppie with.Ohh and i went from a 200mm Mono Trial 06, to a 180 Magura Julie. The Julie out performed and felt so much nicer. Now ive just gone to a 203 BB7, and why i ever got the Julie i dont know. Having used Hope and the julie, i was expecting something simular, but the BB7 is a thousand times better then both of them. Threw me over the bars on a gap to front wheel, where as the Julie would of slipped a tiny bit.
Ash-Kennard
they modulate or bite, depends how your set them up and how hard you pull the lever

Tomm
For trials, the BB7 is probably better than the Juicy, and it's about half the price. I have a juicy on my trials bike and I'm considering "downgrading" to a BB7, and sticking the Juicy on my XC bike (Juicys are pretty good for XC/DH as they have loads of modulation). I just need to find a decent place to buy a BB7 from

Dan6061
From what i've been told, the BB7 has got no modulation what so ever, but it's a feckin' sharp brake. My BB7 with 165 Gothic rotor has bite, and modulation. - Just how I like it.Yeah, get a BB7, for stock - 180mm if you still want modulation, or 203mm if you want lots of lock, with a hint of modulation. basher
you dont wont to be getting a hope moto brake as they arnt made for trials its the hope mono trial brake you should be looking at. but dont waste you money on any of them brakes including the juicy get a bb7 and use a avid speed dial 7 lever or any decent lever will do. and your will save your self abit of money and be amazed at the stopping power that a cable disk can have beats any other disk imo. paolo
Now that this is setteled, thank you for giving me your thread. Has anyone one tried avid juicy 5' on for trials as a rear brake ? Being on a 24" and riding verry streety, I don't need mad grabbing power, I need the wheel to lock easely. But I also need alot of modulation, what most bb7s I tried seemed to lacka tad. Anyone has brake ideas ? I try to keep away from maggies, they cost alot in Canada and make waaay to much noise for me !
bite me
ok mate personally i think if you want hydrolic the magura louise breaks have great bite and lots of modulation but avid do a gorgeous code which is very bitey with modulation as you need but you know it will not slip and personally when it comes to back brake i would want to trust it and there are very few rear discs i would trust on the backhope this helps
