Greetings
I'm thinking about going to dual disc next year. I had a 20" DD and the rear wheel did flex quite a bit so I'm worried how bad this mightl be on a 26". How often do you have to get a new wheelbuild and what spokes do you use? paolo
Wheelsmith 14g spokes. Had mine for a while, never had it dished, get them built properly and they should last a while... tipsy Jock
I had a rear avid for a while, that used to flex around all over the place, i think pad wobble contributed a lot to that as well though.
rav
I have 3 cross both side butted spokes 2.0/1.6/2.0 and all is OK.Its only some "stop delay" effect compared to rim brakes but nothing flex to the side or something.
durkie
i can tell a difference, but you get used to it. i'm running 14g/3x both sides , but i don't see any reason at all why you would have to rebuild your wheel because of it. cranking down on the pedals causes a shit ton of flex, but you don't notice it as much because you're not stationary, like when on the rear.
