djb
The Ashton no longer exists although rumours of a replacement were, if I remember rightly, confirmed by Ashton himself recently but that won't be about 'till next year. Other than that, like you said Heatsink, Leeson and Curtis are the typical choices. There is also Iolo on here who will make you one custom and Todge/Fresh Products will too, both costing less than a Leeson/Curtis. For something different to these you could try the Onza Zoot though I don't think that is available as frame only. Your best bet for frame only is to wait for something second hand, it's the only way you'll get one 'cheap'.Hope that helps, I don't think there are any other contenders at the moment but I may be wrong. Luke Rainbird
Ashton/Orange shall be bringing a new one out early next year, or at least that seems to be the plan.Iolo will gladly make you one, but that is around £350 so in the same situation as Leeson I assume.Todge/Fresh I am unsure of at the minute, best bet would be to drop him an emailHeatsink are really nice from what I've heard, and a good priceThere was a Zoot frame in Fs/Wtd (well, there were two, but I know at least one is gone) which could be worth a look.Hope you find something Edited November 23, 2006 by Monkey Boy
