GCSE's are a piece of piss, i breezed them and came out in good standing. A level is where it picks up :( i reckon theyve got the system all wrong, most people do shit in year 12 so its a lot harder in year 13. i think this is a result of most people not being ready to step up to that level of work, they should ease us in slower im convinced of this because i have taken an extra AS along side my A2 and its so easy now im able to work to the right level which is good for that lesson but not really for my other subjects

i hate all the course work and naging teachers. i'm predicted

English - B

Science - more gnvq shite thats worth 4 gces

Maths - C

BTEC engineering - diploma (equivelant to four gcse's)

DiDa (IT) - dunno what it is, but its worth four gcse's

RE. Already have a C for that but got another exam for it - predicted B

RE has got to be the easiest subject ever, as long as you understand the christian view to a question, and you can justify your opinion on the question, for every question, thats all you'll need.

EDIT: Speaking of RE i got in trouble and sent out the classroom, because of my views on religion. The teacher had ago at me for sharing my opinion, in an open class descusion, about how i feel that religion was only ever made to control people. Then we moved on to illegal immigration, which we also had completely different views on. To shorten it i said if they want to come to our country for a better life they should live by our rules. But they don't they come to take advantage of the country. And she replied with get out. BITCH! night all.

God. I feeel old. I remember when i was posting about my GCSE mocks 3 years ago.

I got predicted loads of D's and like 2 C's and a U or something. Meaning they thought I was a failure.

I got:

2 A's

6B's

and One C in English Lit which is gay so.. lol. Like i care. :)

They're easier than you think. I promise. A-Levels on the other hand. They're harder :(

I am in year 11 now with 6-7 months left of my time at school. The way i see it is, why not just get the work done now and do well and then atleast you have the grades to help you to get a better job.

Put it this way, when us year 11's all leave our schools were all going be on the hunt for jobs and there maybe you and 20 other guys, Now do you stand a better chance with no GCSE'S or 5-10 ?

Who do you think there going pick ??

It's common sense really just get the work done and do well and then you get a smile on your face when you pick your grades up and know, thats it now, i have what i wanted and can go for almost any course.

Bingo, Jobs a gooden.

Then once all thats out the way, Go and ride.

Dan.

I remember doing my GCSEs, Christ it doesn't seem like 2 minutes ago (I've just started my first year of Uni).

Seriously though.

Just revise and do the best you can possibly do with the time and resources you have left. In the grand scale of things; GCSEs are quite easy really (as are any exams if you just do the work).

Revise in small chunks, work on what you don't know. It's only for a short while and then you've got the summer hols to look forward to

Good luck with getting on the music course :) I'm doing a Degree in Popular Music now and it's great.

Well ive just done my GCSE's and am in my first year of 6th form and i can officialy say..

GCSE's mean f*** all. The only thing they are good for is getting you into the 6th form you want to do the courses you want then they are forgotten about..5 years for that ffs?

My 2p worth - Work hard in the subject you want to take at a level, and do the bare minimum in everything else :)

I really WOULDN'T do this.

Fair enough some colleges will look at the subjects you're applying for and the grades you got at GCSE for those subjects most closely related to those at a higher level, although it's a risky gamble as some will also notice that you've just slacked on everything else, which makes you look like you only want to put effort into things you enjoy.

It's true that once you get your A levels they're obviously more important to employers etc than your GCSEs however at the moment your GCSEs are the most important thing you have going.
