Radfax
I have a scollarship in graphics design so that means i will get a Btec first national diploma in graphocs design and another 3/4 grades on top of that. I am not sure what i am going for to be honest, Ive been told i can get a B in mediaIve been told the same for Product design maths im going for a C if i work for it (we had no teacher for 3 years so i suppose im pretty lucky to get a C double science im going for a b/csingle i dont know hopefully the same, thats all the gcse's im taking. so thats 3 b/c's 1 c. my graphics course that i hope to pass will hopefully be with a distinction which is what i have been predicted, 3 destinctions. so i hope to leave school and then go and study graphics design and posibly animation or interior design. T-OM
i'm in year 11 also and i agree it bloody stressful the grades im predicted are pritty good but im my early school life they where completly sh*t. my advise is to go in after school and do some extra work, yer i no it sounds geekish but it gets dark around 4 anyway you might as well use the time you would probably waste to good use. Ben Beckett
i just finished year 11 now, i didn't find the work stressful or anything, because it is all planned by the examining board, so there is plenty of time to get all the coursework done. i just done the usuall and pissed about in all the lessons, and dropped history because i was a too big of a distraction to the 3 different classes i was moved to. i got some half decent grades and now have an amazing job with a great future for me , http://jsfraser.com/ my grades are;R.S ------>BICT---------->CMATH------->CSCIENCE DOUBLE AWARD---->C,CENGLISH------->DGEOGRATHY------->DDESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (resistant materials)------->CGERMAN------->E (didn't do ANY coursework etc, and sent outand SSD'd every lesson for going on about the gas chambers)all the teachers (except a few that i got on with) thought i was going to be a f**k up and have a 'dead end' life, how wrong they are!just don't panic about school too much, enjoy the last few months you are still there because they will be gone before you know it! _CRED_
I'm pretty strange : top maths group, top science group, bottom english group English:C Maths:A* Biology: A Chemistry: A Physics: A* DT Graphics: C DT Resistant materials: D Geography: D ICT:C Did Maths statistics last year (because i'm in the top group ) and got a B Ok grades I suppose but still got loads of coureswork to do Got a Chemistry metals module test retake tomorrow because I did so badly first time But in the other chemistry module test i got 50/50 but there only worth 5% Mocks for the next 2 weeks as well Edited November 22, 2006 by _CRED_
ted
Personally i don't like the idea of predicted grades. I always seemed to get low predictions like D's and E's but in my GCSE exams my lowest mark was a "B" .Also, if you think GCSE's are hard, wait 'till 6th form. Orgun_Donor
Altho to be fair, GCSE's mean f**k all in the real world! They are only used to get you onto the next course. And there is always another way around bad GCSE'sI know i flunk Maths first time round, retook it. and doing fine in life thanks
Ali C
same here, dont have any GCSEs and its not been a problem at all. the art and design course I went on needed GCSE grades to get in, but I got accepted just by showing a portfolio. So dont panic about them, you can take them again any time if you need to. T-BAD
if you get shit grades and need to go on a course at college, they'll most likely stick you in keyskills lol
Ali C
can take them again then, what I am getting at is theres no need to stress over them, just relax and enjoy being young.
plainlazy84
I heard yesterday that your GCSE's expire after five years. Well in the eyes of colleges/ sixform anyway. Important if you do want to go to college though (for most courses) but after that they arent worth a great deal. I wish I had GCSE coursework to do instead of a 10,000 word dissertation

Seriusoly though, do well with your GCSE's, go to college and get a National Diploma in something (worth more than A levels) and try and get an apprenticeship in a reputable company. Set for life then, aslong as you like it mind.My place... Supreme Plastics
