An_toin3
well, don't know if it's just for me but i have an echo single speed hub, and the f**king freewheel tool is too narrow for the hub's axle it's funny, but now I need to remove it to put some new spokes, any way to remove it ? without destroying it.. Thanks
Mark W
Take the axle out or file the tool down or something? I don't know the Echo hubs so I can't say for sure, but one of those will work. Maybe try a different tool as well, seeing as some tools have wider bodies than others? Mark W
I would say "Just hit it with a hammer", but the better answer would be "Wait for Ad/Dave @ Tarty to read this thread/e-mail them"...

Radfax
the one and only freewheel that i removed using a freewheel tool eneded up stripping the thread on my cranks and masshed the freewheel up aswell. I have only removed one freewheel properly and that was with the use of a hammer and a vice! All the rest i have taken of with a grinder

RobinJI
I think he means he put the crank in then vice, as he's talking about a FFW. I would have though that if you hit the end of the axel with a hammer on the drive side then it should just push the bearing out of the other side and the axle will come out. Well a mallet would be alot cleverer. Be sure you check for any grub screws or anything on the cones though.

jim-p
if you have a descent bike motorbike/scrambler bike shop near you should get them to take it off they should do it for about £10-
