Tom Perkins
It depends as some people have hit them from sidehops. But my mate has a disc and i love it. People like Neil Tunni and CLS use front maggies. I would say get one anyway mate. Edited November 21, 2006 by tom perkins

Darren Nash
To make it a little easier for you decide what you think is better here is the pros and cons of disc brakes and maguras.Disc brakes tend to cost alot more than a magura. There also harder to maintain and set up.They need beding in. Although if set up well they can work really good for doing things such as gaps to front wheel or side hops. Were as a magura tend to be cheaper and are very easy to maintain were it only needs a rebleed every now and then. Plus if it isnt working to well you can add tar to the rim for a better performance. basher
plus which is a gd hydrolic brake for under £70rong question mate. what you should of asked is what is the best disk brake for under 70quid? and your answer is the avid mechanical bb7 the are cheaper than hydraulic brakes and are just as good if not etter when set up with a good lever and cable, really are the best value for money disk brake i think.i run one and at first i wasnt sure weather i should get one because i may hit it but i have landed on it a few times and they are alot stronger than you think, and you dont catch it as much as you would think.
