squince Posted November 21, 2006 Report Share Posted November 21, 2006 Yes, there called taps.You can also buy helecoil kits,This is where you tap the hole too a bigger size and put a metal insert in whcih looks rather like a spring. I think they will sell them in any hardware shop. wti fasteners, they will send in the post the sameday for next day delivery.you dont want to re-tap it.get an insertthats what i did anyway just becausei didn't have any 5mm threads.... EDIT: just involves drilling it out, popping the insert in and squirting some stud lock in it.Do not put thread lock on wire thread inserts as you will lose the mechanical advantage gained.
