Phil H
Right I need to buy some cranks. I've got a middleburn sprocket and a bash to go on which are both 5 bolt. BUT looking on tarty all the cranks look like left side cranks to me Do you screw on the actual 5 bolt thing to which you bolt the bash and sprocket? (surely they arent all like special branks that you screw on the bash and sproket straight on)HELP PLEASEPhil
the judge
Burns have a spline thing on the drive side crank, the bash goes on that and then a lock ring keeps the bash in place

Onza Kieron
A Middleburn bashring will only fit Middleburn cranks or I think, the old XTR cranks, thats if it's a centre spline system. Just a word of warning but Yeh, basically everything on Tarty minus the Burns have scren on freewheel/cog/bash system, it's like, the standard in trials these days. But what else would I need - some kind of locking device?Phil
RobinJI
Nah, that's all you'd need. A bash and freewheel/fixed sprocket. Because of the direction they screw on the motion of the cranks tightens them every time you pedal, so you don't need a lock-ring.
Onza Kieron
Like he said^ Just its a bitch to get off. But yeh, cranks, bash (optional) and fixed cog/freewheel is needed, unless you go the the tensile bashring which is also a spider for 5 bolt compact drive, which I just so happen to prefer, personal preference I guess.
