BeNNy
I use Zoo! pads on a grind with no tar! They're realllly good, ive not tried them on a smooth rim but im guessing they''ll be just as good..I'd say grind your rim for the winter Cos you dont wanna be running tar when its wet and that... Dan6061
Do not grind your rim if you have Zoo pads. When I had some Zoos, I had a well worn grind, and they still turned to dust every time I braked.Zoo pads on a smooth rim will be fine. BeNNy
sorry to be a absulute twat but i am a newbie still wat is tar.Roof tar..or road tar stuff...the black sticky stuff! Rub some of it on your rim then your brake will be better...ok cheers mate, do they give a good lock? and a really loud sound cause thats what i like lol, really grippy with loud noise cheers, willYeah they do give a good lock, and a nice sound..The sound of your brake depends on what booster you have really...Im running an Echo 4 bolt booster on mine, and its not as loud as not having a booster... But it still gives a nice squeek.

James@swanseatrials.com
thats your best bet mate. give them a test in the dry and see what they perform like, if they aren't up to standards then you can always give them a grind later! personally i prefer a smooth rim on a four bolt setup, but grinded rims these days are gtting better and better once worn in! and my favourite setup of all is a solid grind on plazmatic crm pads with a little tuch of tar its unbeatable!!
