Another Pc Problem....

Random Problem..

Switch my pc on it says there is 'no signal input' on the monitor. so I fiddle about with it and take my graphic card (Geforce - AGP slot ) out and put it back in and it works.

But if I switch my pc off and on again I get the same problem and have to take out the card and put it back to get the pc too work.

So I put in my old bog standard does the job PCI graphics card and get the same problem and it is 'fixed' in the same way.

so it would seem something is up with the motherboard, but I haven't a clue! Do you?

thanks in advance :)

You're unplugging the monitor from the back of the pc to take the card out?

Try *just* unplugging the monitor from the pc then pluging it back in again without taking the card out.

If that works, you're monitor is broken.

Edit: fat fingers, pwned

Everytime i turn my pc off and then just turn the monitor on it says, "no signal input" and then i press the button on the tower and then it goes and my pc works no problem and so does everybody else's pc who i have been on, i thought it was normal ?

Dan.

I thought that just meant that the monitor is on, but the PC isn't? :ermm:

looks like I cause some confusion, when I switch the pc it still says no signal input on the monitor. And the only way to solve this is to take the card out and put it back in again. and it will work.

but then the next time i switch the pc on it will do the same thing.

I have tried it with two different monitors and two different graphics card (AGP and PCI)

i aint too computer technical minded but here goes.

I had the same problem before, spoke to my uncle who is a computyer whizz and there is some battery, like a large watch battery, on the motherboard that he told me to replace, i did this and it has been fine ever since, try that
