Sam Nichols
One thing that's been annoying me recently is people who post their items up for sale and put all the prices up etcetera but then say 'Add me to msn for pictures' or 'pictures will be up in about a week/by the weekend'. Stuff like that. Basically first and foremost NOBODY is going to buy bike related part, from trials-forum and from somebody they have never met. So you need up for people to see. As this is the case you aren't going to sell the item until people have seen it. So why not post the pictures straight away?? And as for the 'add me to msn bit' is that just for a popularity type thing.. I HAVE THIS MANY FRIENDS WOOT OMGZZ If you're going to take the time to send the same picture maybe ten times over msn.. Why not upload it once to your thread? I've spoken mostly about the benefits to the person who made the topic.. But from a buyers point of view I find it bloody annoying! Coming on each day to check if they have put up the pictures yet, having to get your dibs in on something before you see it because you think you might want it.. only to see it and realize you don't like it and then you've messed people around. Just the whole concept of waiting makes me grumpy. So is it possible we could have a mandatory picture with all cycle related for sale topics? Even if it's just one and not very good.. It'll be better than nothing. Any comments? Also I'll stick a poll just so people can tell me how bad my idea is. [This should be made by the weekend. Add me to msn if you want to vote.]
bikerider
Yep I agree.Even a rubbishy low res phone pic is enough just to get an idea.or even use a stock photo from one of the bike retailers (remember to give them credit for nicking their pics though), at least until a decent pic can be uploaded
Walleee
When a person post's picstures and says pics tomorrow, and then a week later they are not there, I use that as an indication that they don't keep their word, so don't bother with them usually.I feel it's silly to impose that all topics MUST have a picture, infact it'd probobly be impossible as you can't rightly force people to put a pictue for a wanted post yet both for sale and wanted topics are in the same forum. It's certainley a better idea to post pics on the post, some people either can't be arsed or don't know how to resize or upload an image and so msn is easier..... I think it's good advice, but not something that should be forced on people.
anzo
Maybe because its a whole lot eaiser to do? No size limitations on photos or anything. And at least when they add you on MSN you know they're a potential buyer, of course, 8/10 its someone to f**k you about. But I find it a lot easier to use msn in a real time chat rather then pissing about on the internet for 5 minutes to send something, on MSN that takes 2 seconds. And the 'popularity' thing? Whats that about? Even though you probably meant it as a joke, I dont think anyones that sad, lol Theres about a billion things on Sale/Wanted that needs considering before this. Concussion
Yeah I'd like a photo, but what yer gonna do! I generally don't bother with anyone who doesn't upload one and I hate MSN....... all the people I have contact with start chatting to me about shit while I'm trying to sort summit out ! ie: "reeeet?" = WTF! I'd would like sale/wanted split into different sections, ie: stock / mod / bike parts.... but that's probably impractical.....meh` whatever, thank god it's here though, can't stand ebay with it's charges and stuff. Si-man
Is there no way of having a picture next to the actual thread before you click on it, like on online shops.Would be a good idea that, atleast then if the title is shite you can see whats your going into the thread to see. anzo
people who dont supply pics wonder why there stuf dont sell.. fagsMy stuff sells you nonse The message board is limited to what PowerBoard release as add-ons, they cannot edit the coding. I think the Mod/Stock/Other sectioning is a good idea though, I'm sick of clicking something and finding out its for a penny farthing. Jaffacakes
Its simple really.I always put pics up with stuff im selling...and i always sell it.Simple as that,,,,people who dont supply pics wonder why there stuf dont sell.. fagsI just sold my whole bike in bits and I havnt taken a single pic.If i had a working camera it would probebly be a different story though. It shouldn't be mandatory, there's no need for it to be. If you want to/dont want to see pic's of it its your choise.
JT!
Awaits JT to mention his old idea. If you have pics in a topic, you will get more interest. Fact.So why people don't is byond me.I have actually bought some bars without seing a pic of them though. So, it shouldn't be made a rule, but your stupid not to post pics up if you can.
