Frost
I've been working on wheelies and track standing. Track standing I can do for some time however I can not do it without rotating my front tire. My balance left to right seems pretty bad and prevents me for work on more advanced moves. Again I am unable to do wheelies not because I can't control my lateral movements but I can't get a gI have no issues with balance front to back as if I was in a wheelie position or an pogoing around. Any suggestions on ways to improve this problem. ThanksSteve
JT!
Well when your trackstanding, you do have to move your front wheel a bit. You can't just lock up your front brake and balance, there's no one that can do that. There's no real trick to it really, tweaing your knees left and right may help, but it really is just down to practising, it's like learning to walk all over again - and look how eay that is now. PaRtZ
JT's right, Theres no one in the world who can trackstand comfortably with their wheels in a straight line. When it comes to riding thin stuff however you'll be a bit screwed but dont worry that comes with a lot of practice. After two and a bit years Im starting to like riding thin stuff. I did one thin ride (my 4th vid if you're interested) a while ago and it was sooo sketchy!Again as JT said, twist you knees more to move your weight on your bike, lock your arms in a straight line and if you need to, use your non-favourite foot to balance. I found that having my weight a bit more forward on the bike helps too, but i think thats for the twisty knee movement thingas for the wheelie, only thing i can suggest is make sure your front wheel is still spinning as the gyro-something forces keep it in a straight line and make it harder to turn. But i cant wheelie in a straight line so its all good
eskimo
As for wheelies i can't do them. Well not the real way I can manual however, forever. Thats needs another And track stands. Try being parallel to a slope then aim you front wheel up the slope. Use pedal pressure to move you forwards or backwards depending on your weight position. Also try using one hand, one foot or no hands. FUN STUFF.Hope that helps.
