T-BAD
yeah it will be sound mate the guys from america though...
Ali C
it is different, road bike brake levers pull less cable, so you need a caliper thats compatable. You could use a bmx lever if you wanted, otherwise it wont be as powerful as a normal bb7
Joey B
S**t, ok then. will have a looksie for a mtb one. Any of you guys know any UK based stores that have them in stock, shipping from america is fine but shipping time and cost are a bit off putting. It's the same as last years model, just with a 'roundagon' rotor. You are making a very wise decision, also, my like-named friend; Avid BB7's are amazing disc brakes...Cheers,Joe. Onza Kieron
Surely you could run it, just the bite point would be further on the lever? couldn't you just settle this by backing the pads off fully, or am I missing the ENTIRE problem... Ali C
Surely you could run it, just the bite point would be further on the lever? couldn't you just settle this by backing the pads off fully, or am I missing the ENTIRE problem...roady and bmx levers have different pivot placments, so that means they pull less cavle, to compensae bmx, cantilever and roady brakes have different ratios too sto stop the brake feeling really spongy. If you run a roady disk with a normal lever it will feel really solid at the lever and have less power. You could run a speed dial lever in its lowest setting though.
Onza Kieron
Could you also run a Dx style lever like this one if it was set in a low setting?

Jang
Ali summed this up perfectly about the lever pull.. However i'm going to confuse you all again Now i can't remember who makes this, i have a feeling its Avid (although i can't find it!) there is a special little roller type thing (No not the one for rear mechs! bit like that though) which to put on instead of a noodle on a V brake which enables you to run the Vee with a drop bar style brake (which pulls the same as a canti brake lever).. Now.. i know mechanical discs don't run noodles like Vee brakes do, however you could still insert one of these down by the caliper and hey presto.Personally.. i'd say stuff that and get the right thing to begin with! Joey B
Personally.. i'd say stuff that and get the right thing to begin with! Yep i agree though many of these tips/bodges may work, theres nothing like keeping it simple. So does anyone know where i can get a MTB one. Yes i have google'd it and i can't find a price that is anywhere near to CRC's £50 .
