eskimo
Snapped disc mounts on frame? What do you guys think? Surely this WILL affect the strength the bike has left. I'm considering bidding.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOXSIN-ONE-TRIALS-BI...1QQcmdZViewItem
roly
Its a tricky one> I reckon you might get a good deal there but I would definitely find out how it happened. The pics don't show it too clearly but I reckon you'll be ok. The stress from rim braking should be far enough up the dropouts not too be a problem. the judge
I don't think it'll make any difference at all, as the bit that has snapped off isn't usually there at all on most trials frames.
Ducko
frame will be fine! it wont effect the strength as the pressure is put on the snapped part not any other part of the frame!
Shaun H
There's no question that disc brake usage has stressed the frame to some degree though Nick. I was thinking of bidding on that but obviously can't now....
T-BAD
be reet, just get him to email you a pic of the snappage then post it up on here we all get a clear view then
Ducko
the pressures on the frame wqould have been from when the disk was used just like any other rear disk frame there will be stress down the seat stay when breaking, but the part that has snapped has failed because that part was not strong enough not that the frame as a whole was not strong enough. underengineered mounts. Or over engineered in that they were too stiff and didn't allow any flex.
Shaun H
Toxsins usually crack at the headtube don't they? (if at all)I say go for it Nick.
Greetings
It'll be fine. The disc mount on these frames is very weak and you don't need much force to brake it off. Go for it
