Who Do You Think Should Be A Senior Member?

I don't get the system really...

I would have thought senior members are members that are mature enough to deal with senior matters - ie rude picture / topics. Yet it seems to be an SM you have to be the model user - ie post helpful comments and suchlike...

I'm not that bothered I just don't understand how the system works

It kinda works both ways, I guess. If you show that you're what you dub a 'model user' then perceptions of you will be that you're mature enough, then you become an SM and you get invited to contribute to Senior matters.

You're right though, there's certainly no set system to being nominated for SM'ship.

I reckon if people are over 18 and post well and don't make crap up/start arguments then they should be put up for being a senior member, i mean whats the point in having a SM section and the ability to make people SM's if theres only a select few who ever actually get put in there.

I mean, that picture shows a tech section, surely that would be helpful to people, and maybe people can contribute ideas and imformation into it to help others, yet we don't get the chance.

I think if anything it actually seems a little condesending, like you have to be truly worthy and know the right people to be made a SM.

i became senior when i was 16 i think.

about the tech section, we get ideas and try to make them work. often takes a while for us to get something done as we are lazy bastards...

also, we do not mean for it to be condescending. some times it might seem that way but that is not what we want it to be. we dont want to be Ãœbermenschen, at least i have no interest in it. i do not know if this is how it works, but in my head, i see being senior as being a member that (at some point :P) contributes to the forum, and can be of interest for the mods/admins, and a person who has been around for a while so the mods/admins know a little about the person. but i dunno. i like trials though.

Hmm well I've said it before (did I say it? or was it just in my head... anyway..), even I don't really see the point in SM's (no offense to you lot) now really, it creates a lot (well, a bit) of hassle - threads like this obviously, is a level of 'authority' which isn't really needed, it lets a few members know they're appreciated around here (which you are), but a lot more think 'why aren't I an SM?' and, in conclusion, the idea of SMness has been lost really.

Can't remember who has turned down being an SM, a couple though, but now I'm older and slightly wiser I can see where they're coming from.
