Dan Jones
I'm looking at the ISIS SKF bottom bracket with an axle length of 128mm.I would like to find out if this will give more chain ring clearance (against frame),when compared to a 127.5mm UN52 square taper (assuming the taper is in good condition).Thanks.With my current set up the 22t chain ring is almost touching the frame. AdamR28
It greatly depends how old/worn the tapers are on the square cranks...Which exact setups are you comparing? Let me know and I'll do some measuring for you...CheersAds

Dan Jones
When the taper was new it was a close fit. My bike is a Triton Deema and its designed to be used with a FFW.I'm using Middleburn RS7 pro trials cranks with a 22t chain ring. Thanks! AdamR28
Well, it appears there's really not a lot in it... As both the setups are designed to give the same chain line when fitted with a 'normal' chainset. One thing we do have though is an Onza Taper BB in 127.5mm with an offset axle - this offsets everything approx 2mm to the drive side. This will give you more chainring clearance Give me a shout if that would be of use to you.CheersAdam
