Joe Papasnap Maher
Just cos it was a 60 limit, and you were doing 30 that you were driving safely. Do you take all the corners on a country (60mph) road at 60? Nope. Dont try to say like you werent going to fast, you must have been. You got your new gearbox and clutch, thought you would have a bit of a rag and went a bit too far in the wet. Ive done it myself mate so stop kidding yourself into thinking your innocent! In terms of fixing it, no mates in the business? Id defo go for second hand bumper etcOh i agree jon...But im not lying...lets face it id only be lying to myself right??I took the corner no faster...than ive ever taken it Im not trying to say, i wasnt driving in an unsensinsible manner, because i must of been. I cant even remember.I was just buzzing from southend beating man u haha.Apparently im the 6th car to end up in that guys garden

Luke Rainbird
Then why doesn't he grow a sturdy hedge/matresses, rather than concreteness! Or would you have otherwise been in his living room?
TomR
no i just find it harsh when i have to pay £800 when it be half that if there wasent nutter out thereTry having to pay £1700 a year for a 1.3 fiesta, i had to when i was 17. And i bet your mum and dad paid for atleast half of your moped/insurance anyway, i sure as hell know i couldn't have afforded that at 16.We all get ripped off by insurance so don't complain like you're the only hard done by one. Besides with Joe's £500 excess it's hardly gonna force up premiums around the globe anyway. Most premiums are more affected by crime and age than anything these days. JonCongreve
Apparently im the 6th car to end up in that guys garden I bet you are due to the corner being off camber and quite sharp, plus it being in the wet
haydon_peter
I took the corner no faster...than ive ever taken it Im not trying to say, i wasnt driving in an unsensinsible manner, because i must of been. I cant even remember. When I lost the back end in my car and crashed I was taking the corner slow compared to how fast I have previously taken the same corner I was lucky and only needed a new bumper which cost me about £200 in total to sort.In fairness, if you loose a car you are driving inappropriately for the situation.I have calmed down a f**k load since crashing my car, I have lost my 'nerve', this time last year I would regularly be hooning it around empty country roads in the dark. Looking back, I was very lucky I didnt loose control and actually kill myself All it takes is a bit of gravel/mud/wet leaves and you could totally loose control, loose a lot of money or even your life. You will learn from this and become a better driver, just be happy it was only the car that got hurt this time. Village Idiot
Looks like you got a front abarth bumper on it. Might cost a bit more for one of them than a standard Punto bumper. Will the abarth bumper be covered by the insurance, or would they just replace it with a standard one? 011001000110010101110010
Is the car insured as an Abrath? Or did you wack the kit on without telling them? If they know they will replace like for like.
Token
Someone who knows there fiats It is indeed an abarth bumper...and the whole kit is covered by the insurance...but im unsure what they would replace it for. knowing insurance companies they are quite likely to replace it with a middle finger.as for the crash though buddy, thats real unlucky, I never thought you drove. You've always come across as a 15-16 year old. good luck with sorting it out

I know some companies will only replace mods with standard parts even if you've declared the mods. I'd check through your insurance docs as there will probably be something in there. nmt_oli
Things are going a little off topic here! hey ho.Glad your alright and all, car doesnt look to happy but isnt unfixable.I would personally try to fix it myself, it depends how good you are at spannering really. It should be doable to the safe and driveable stage for £500, but maybe more to get it looking quite the same again. If you go through insurance, you loose no claims, have the excess, and your premium will be considerably higher for a while.Getting it fixed by a garage would be expensive, and worth going through insurance for.Otherwise, check out the bay, forums and local scrappies and get as many front end bits as you can. I would say for now, to get you on the road, don't worry about trying to find an abarth bumper, stick to standard- not hard to change at a later date. the parts that have been mentioned seem about right, hard to tell what else might be needed without under bonnet shots. If you can find the right colour parts, thats a bonus as getting it painted will be expensive, and looks shit if you do it with spray cans (unless you know what your doing and have a lot of time). You can always drive around with a multicoloured car for a while until you find other bits/get the money for paint. At least youl have a car. Prawny Baby
if you can build a bike, you can build a car.....fix it yourself joe get the new parts on ebay, fit them all up yourself, make sure it goes together, then just whip off the bonnet and bumper again and have them sprayed. saving yourself a fortune.paint wise theres only about £50's worth of materials needed there, so find someone willing to do you a favour! PaRtZ
I have one because its better then going on bus Get a XC / Roadie bike? why? Cheaper to run (no fuel or insurance)More environmentally friendlyBetter for you physicallyNot as embarrasing When I was 16 (and younger) I biked everywhere on my sh*tty universal something or other. And I mean everywhere, i used to go to my mates house who lived 7 miles in quite hilly areas every weekend. Now I have a car which my parents pay the insrance for yes, but still I have to pay petrol etc. Id much rather use my bike but I just haven't got round to getting lights for it yet and I need to get to work and back which is a couple of miles away. Shaun H
Whats a slam panel?and, can somone tell me why my airbag didnt go off....I mean , if it dont go off under the impact of that...i dont know what would Your airbag probably didn't go off to save breaking your neck. They only go off when they're *needed*, not in low speed crashes where they would do more harm than good.Unlucky about the car, shouldn't be too bad to sort in the long run.
